HAS ANYBODY SAID IT YET? BOYCOTT THE OSCARS (Oscars Live Thread)
3-4-06 | freedom4me

Posted on 03/05/2006 1:43:20 PM PST by freedom4me

I suppose on this thread it goes without saying, but I'll say in anyway...BOYCOTT THE OSCARS tonight.

I want the ratings for this year's program go into the toilet (where most the nominated movies belong). I won't waste my money to see the films, my electricity to watch the Oscars, or my time watching to witness Hollywood's self-adulation fest.

Pass it on...

Hollywood was so advanced with the touchy racial issues.

It makes me proud.

Yes, M. Night directed the movie, and played a small role in it.

I've seen it at least 15 times :)

I thought everyone was going to boycott the Oscar awards. Seems like all of FReeperdom is watching them.

I'm not.

Mel Gibson's wife gets killed, an alien arrives, his brother finally comes through with a baseball bat.

Swing away. Joaquin does.

That's it in a nutshell, except Mel finds God again....loved the movie

It seems like Hollywood is trying to do some serious fence mending with the viewing public by showing all these clips from old movies.

Born in Puerto Rico to Children of God missionaries

I love how they can make growing up with parents in a cult commune sound so wholesome and normal - they were missionaries, yeah right.

The Children of God, a religious cult accused of promoting indiscriminate sex in the name of Jesus and which claims 12,000 members in 70 countries, was in the spotlight today after scores of its followers were arrested in Buenos Aires....

...The cult, which was founded in 1968 by Californian David Berg, was banned in France in 1978 after stories began to circulate of brainwashing and sexual abuse of children....

FReepers owe that movie big time, what with the beautiful tinfoil scene! LOL.

Mel was great in that one. Love that blue-eyed devil.

Totally. If it weren't for Hollywood, we'd all be living in caves.

"And none of those issues were ever a problem again..." Bwahahaha. *dead silence from the audience*

I liked Stewart's sarcastic remark after all the message movie clips: "And none of those issues were ever a problem again!"
