What's the difference (if any) between the Oscars and the Acedemy Awards? Has that happened already too? I never rent any of those movies that have those wreath-things by them.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards ceremony is called the Academy Awards. Informally they are also called the Oscars, which is the name of the award itself.
