Isn't that friggin sad? There is no shame anymore.
My Grandfather laid rocks in the bottom of River Depere for $5.00 a day in order to make money because he would NOT take help from anyone. He said as a man, he would be ASHAMED of himself to take money and not earn it.
Real men in those days.

Yep, point them to all the politicians and see how fast our borders get locked up.

And even the 'minorityvoters' down there are starting to b*tch.I am not surprised. They are citizens, too, and it's there country going down the plumbing as well as mine. I am at the point that I would vote for Jimmy Carter if he took a strong stance against illegal aliens and if I thought for a minute he would and could deliver.
BTW For the love of all that is decent, put a *BARF ALERT* on your profile page.

Must be up for election this year.
You are very cynical and also very correct.
And,most of her support comes from the southern portion of the state.
And even the 'minorityvoters' down there are starting to b*tch.
She squeaked in on the Casino-Indian vote and fraud in Blue-state Pima County (Tucson)

Name the congressman...Kolbe? he's retiring.
I am talking about the AZ state legislature.

Odd that this issue is being co-opted by a liberal governor. Not really. It's been ignored by the GOP for years now. It's the most obvious sitting duck in politics today.

It's an election year stunt. Granted. It will be very expensive. No doubt. Not much will come from it. Also true.
But at least she has acknowledged that illegal immigration is a serious issue, which is more than I can say for certain Presidents.

What do the latest polls show as to the priority of importance the voters rate various issues? I think I saw one recently and immigration ranked about 10. Out of 10. Are the immigration zealots TRULY sure that the entire electorate cares as much about this as they do?
In a list of Iraq, Abortion, Taxes, Inflation, Health Care Costs . . . let's see, maybe Afghanistan too, Soc. Sec. reform . . . does immigration really make it very high in this list for the entire electorate?

Because single issue zealots always think the population agrees with them. Then the election occurs and they find out most people are smart enough to vote based on more than one issue.

NAFTA. CAFTA. And the miserable war on some drugs has dragged our American border counties (especially here in Texas) down to a level near Mexico for lawlessness and standard of living. Mexico is in dire need of a regime change and economic overhaul. Yet we are d!cking around in a sandbox to the tune of $92 BILLION a year. Sickening. I grew up where Americans looked after their friends and neighbors first. If there was any left over for the other side of the world, we would send it. Mexican citizens in Mexico deserve freedom and running water just as much as Iraqis living in Iraq. Few politicians of either stripe will even acknowledge that Mexico is a problem, moving toward threat.

I think the bulk of her support comes from Phoenix and Tucson...although, it was Pima County absentee ballots that put her over the top.
She thinks she's being really cute the way she's playing her cards here.
She called for troops in her State of the State speech, but demanded Fed dollars to support it. Then, the Legislature gave her $10 mil and said "There's your money, now do it."
She's now putting them on the border, is going to use the $10 mil, but is going to veto the bill so that she can say she won't let the Legislature tell her how to do her job - as if the bill was a demand to put troops there. It wasn't. It was to fund what she said she wanted to do.

They are not there to militarize the border," the governor said. "We are not at war with Mexico."
WRONG IMPRESSION!
To: ARealMothersSonForever
Napolitano has asked the military to pay for her plan, but said she would commit state dollars if necessary.Isn't the state being fined 1Million dollars a day because this Governor isn't complying with English only? Who is paying that? Dumb question.........
