A helicopter made a precarious rescue at one of the camps down the mountain. It did not land on top.

the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) validated and confirmed the high-altitude world record achieved with a serial AS350 B3 on May 14 and 15, 2005, with two landings and take-offs on top of Mount Everest at 8,850 meters (29,035 ft.)

Wow. I was not aware of that feat. Figured 6,000 meters was pretty much the max for a helicopter. Maybe they should call up the AS350 B3 for a trip to Mt. Ararat.
