I don't understand, Milosevic was a Communist. Why do so many people here seem to worship him?

Milosevic fought against:

Islam
Soros

Homosexual deviancy

My vote goes to him.

I will explain you why people to not count it against him. In Eastern Europe you were not able to make career and to gain experience in normal everyday politics (heroic resistance and spending large part of life in prisons is not regular politics) you HAD to join the Party and "be a Communist".

Even in Poland when there was more non-Communist opposition the people who made free market reforms (like Balcerowicz) were former well placed Communists and people like Polish president who help USA in war against Iraq was Kwasniewski (former high ranking Communist).

Apart from the above the "Communist" tendencies of Milosevic was desire to keep assets in the hands of Yugoslav nations and to preserve mixed system with strong trade unions and workers self-government. Such "Communist" tendencies were not very liked by International Community/corporations.

Personally Milosevic was not more Communist than Clinton, Blair or Buchanan.
