We had hail in Atwater on Fri. that covered the ground. 3 yrs ago a tornado took out a barn in Merced.

Channel 6 just showing more footage of debris on the roads.

Any Freepers traveling around in the Quad City area, be careful!

In the areas where some of the water has started to drain, you can now see large pieces of junk all over.

Spotter is traveling around Benton County, AR to try to get an idea of damage.

He just said some people on (farm) tractors are already out moving trees that had fallen on the roads.

[Don't these people know they are supposed to wait for FEMA? I guess that only applies to New Orleans. lol]

Drives the chasers crazy because MO is a bad, bad state to drive after tornadoes in, from what I gather.

Why?

The only damage from the one I just posted was a home a little south that lost its lanai and garage. Yeah, I don't miss tornado alley at all! (20 years in Michigan, another 13 between Oklahoma, Texas, Kentucky, and Indiana).

We experienced hail and a few minutes of snow in my neighborhood on Friday evening as well. The thunderstorm was spectacular from my front porch.

That's funny that you say that. I think for the last 2-3 years, we have NOT had a serious tornado warning for our county in what I call "tornado season". It makes me feel that we are over due. Of course, we had to deal with the effects of three major hurricanes within 18 months while it wasn't tornado season. We had all the effects of downed trees, power outages, humming generators, etc.

Yeah, a car wash in Silvis had it's roof blown clean off. Reporter said it was lying across the street and blew into an apartment complex and blew a fence over. I'm trying to figure out where that is since I know Silvis really well. Said there were bricks everywhere, road closed.

Chasers hate:

1) Trees

2) Hills

3) Roads not in a neat grid

Missouri has a lot of all of the above.

This doesn't look good for the summer coming up. I'm living in a tornado area also and I'm thinking about moving.

I didn't think about the roads. But there's no "neat grid" to our snake paths round here, lol.
