It's too bad he couldn't hang out more with Bruce Willis. Maybe Bruce's thinking would rub off a bit...?

Somewhere recently (maybe here?) I saw some comments from Willis saying he gets annoyed when people call him a Republican. He went to great pains to point out he isn't although he strongly supports the military. He claims to be just a guy who wants to see "justice" for the poor, the underprivileged, etc. Sound familiar?

Welp, that's a pretty weird question. Does it mean he didn't? Does it matter?

Just because someone is entertained by a character on television, does that mean SHE isn't going to heaven? Does that deserve challenge (however subtle) on a political board? Is Barney Fife a known enemy of the United States? Is enjoying Andy Griffith treason? Does someone here have OCD?.......

I for one don't agree with everything Bush stands for. I still like him, I still think he's a highly admirable man and doing one heck of a job for all he's had to deal with in his term(s), and I still would vote for him (if he were to run again, if that were possible).

Ditto that.

The author of this article SUCKS as a writer - I can tell you right now that whoever wrote it pulled a statement by Gibson in response to a particular question and wrote it out of context. This is an attempt by some snot-nosed pseudo-writer with an axe to grind to color the reader's perception. Until I see the entire interview written out as it had occured, I refuse to believe that Gibson would say something like this without a reason behind it. It may well be that Mel has some gripes about President Bush, but if theres anyone 'fearmongering' here, its the prissy little whelp that wrote this blurb.

Pukes like this one do this to other actors all the time - Russell Crowe comes to mind.

How do you know whether Mel Gibson is in union with Rome or not? You don't, but that doesn't matter, because you'll take gossip and innuendo and decide that an appropraite way to evaluate people. I don't know Mel Gibson, and I don't know what he believes, but he never told me what kind of Catholic you are. Why is he not in union with Rome and you are despite the fact you have decided the 8th Commandment is no longer valid, and you consider yourself a higher authority on Catholicism than the Pope himself. Does the fact that you are a deacon give you these special powers? You aren't anything but a warped, frustrated man who attacks everyone else, because you hate yourself.

I feel like I am in the twilight zone. I can't believe that some of you call yourselves Christians. This is just funny. Poor Mel with friends like you who needs enemies. What hypocrites. I cannot believe you are the same folks who were just complaining about how President Bush was selling our ports. Do you really look at yourselves in the mirror in the morning? I am sorry I was trying to be patient and trying to understand the fuss, but talk about casting stones. MEL GIBSON the guy you honored like the Sacred Cow says one sentence that could have been taken out of context and now it is let's boycott Mel Gibson...I am in awe!!!!! Come on with the flames. You guys prove that if you say something in diagreement you are written off. Well I am giving Mel the benefit of doubt, too bad you guys can't. To be honest, I am ashamed of some of you so called Christians. I am too!!!! Boy am I in for it. I hope I can sleep tonight with the flames coming my way.

"He's not. His primary support came from ultra-rightwing palaeoconservative Roman Catholics who are fanatically anti-Jewish and anti-Israel. "

LOL! Sorry to disappoint you, but I doubt most Roman Catholics (whether right-wing or left-wing) care about Israel one way or the other.

The vast majority of Christians (I exclude Falwell/Robinson types) spend very, very, little time thinking about Israel - for good or ill.

I think you're engaging in what Psychologists call "projection".

After his courage of producing his 'Passion of the Christ,' Mel Gibson needs to apologize to no one for political viewpoints which happen disagree with George Bush.

Sheesh -- It's not as though he trashed the President like the Dixie Chicks, yet some Freepers are quite willing to toss Gibson over a cliff anyway??

What is this place becoming?

Porn markets to it's audience without regard to Christians. Hollywood markets to an audience regardless of Christian beliefs. Why is anybody surprised? There is money to be made without the Christian dollar.

"What is this place becoming?"

It's funny. Probably 90% or more of the people who post here have criticized Bush in some way or another during the last six years (on policies, border protection, nominations...), whether privately with friends, in forums, or while thinking to themselves. But if Mel Gibson does it it's a crime; he's crazy, or a liberal, and we need to make him pay!

Gibson has always been eye candy but seeing him in interviews after The Passion was released - I had to wonder about his mind. He was rather a loose disjointed cannon. He has made some great entertaining movies in the past but now he seems to think of himself as a guru.
