I am totally against that. I think you have a duty to vote. If McCain gets the nomination I will vote - just not for him.

Oh my. If we're getting to go back to the Framer's --- let's go back ALL the way and not just conveniently for you: do away with electing senators by popular vote.

Your lame duck premise is faulty: it's presumes that they will ALL be rascals if term limited. Not so. GOOD people who have to return to the private sector just might be better officeholders and have an interest in HONOR, DUTY and accountability above personal gain, sweetheart pensions and other perks.

While we're at it, how about land ownership as a prerequisite to sufferage?

If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher.

And he can never be faulted for not doing his part!

Inaction on this is basically a vote for Hillary Clinton for President

I'm not the one threatening to sit home or go to another party.

You need to get to work too or your worst nightmares will be realized.

I love the way some of you assume that nobody ever "does anything" except you.

Are donations made by Free Republic to specific campaigns or specific candidates?

No they are not .. though freepers do put up threads or make posts endorsing candidates

The FEC could forbid sites like FR from doing that 60 days before an election

Not only is McCain treasonous the whole stinking Senate is! We are being ruled by elitists who are totally removed from reality,Bush signed their stupid McCain-Feingold Bill. Even Rush and Hannity thought this was good, there arent any real conservatives in government they are all comprimised by monied interests.

You might want to get your facts straight. Rush & Hannity preached until they were blue in the face AGAINST McCain-Feingold.

" I am so glad you agree!"

Do I ever!

Especially the ... "I won't aid in electing democrats by wasting my vote on a 3rd party or by staying home" ... part.

Romney is too slick, and has religious issues that some may have a problem with, aka Kennedy and the Pope. You don't think McCain would want Romney as his Vice President, do you?

McLame (or should we call him "Luke Skywalker") has zero chance of making it past the first primary. Arizona FReepers should make sure he doesn't make it past his next Senate race.
