I am not one of them but there was and still are a large number on this forum that hope he will run for President.
As for mydelf, I had considered not voting should the Republican hierarchy decide to nominate him as their standard bearer in 2008.
I have since reconsidered my position on this matter.
I will vote for the Democrat candidate.
John Mc Cain's name on the Presidential ballot will elect the Democrat candidate. The main stream media and alphabet news organizations's talking heads on television know this, else why would they be doing everything in their power to enhance his candidacy.
though INDIVIDUAL freepers do put up threads or make posts endorsing candidates.
Better.
What was the final vote?
I once thought John McCain to be the great hope for the Republican Party - his campaign finance laws turned me off from the get-go.
(Suspiciously, I recall, contributions from Native American lobbies, where he gets a disproportionate level of support, were exempted from the bill he proposed...though I don't remember much more detail...)
Way to go Jim. I admire anyone who stands up for what they believe and put these pompous arse-holes in their place. McCain scares me...........he's nuts!
Hi Ali. Good to see you here.
[And I'll gladly read your Thread on McCain.]
He likes to be an arm chair general and second guess the military. Immediately after the intial invasion of Afghanistan he was on the morning talk shows, berating GW, saying there weren't enough boots on the ground. He uses his military "war hero" status as a way to humiliate the Department of Defense, in sly, back-stabbing remarks. He is a POLITICIAN first and foremost... any patriotism that he has ALWAYS comes second.
Our mild-mannered reporter .... I'm thinking McCain doesn't have your vote, Jim??
My utter contempt of this man falls into a category that sometimes frightens me it gives me comfort to find others of like mind.
Bob Dole is a great man and would have been a great president. Dole lost because there was peace and a good economy from the digital explosion that was coming and there was no fox news and not much of an internet.
Bump!!
Just a reminder:
By cynically pushing 'lobbying reform', John McCain is tearing the guts out of what's left of the First Amendment.
The right to petition our government is God-given and inalienable.
Maybe McCain thinks the 1st amendment reads like this:
"Congress shall pass no law abriding freedom of speech or the press, except 60 days before an election then they can abridge whatever they like, heck lets allow cruel and unusual punishment and suspend habeas corpus too."
If forced to vote for the lessor of two evils (hillary-Mcvain), which is the lessor?
Pointless character assasination. Ronald Reagan was divorced too. Frankly, B. Clinton would have been a better president if he had ditched Hillary.
"John Mc Cain's name on the Presidential ballot will elect the Democrat candidate. The main stream media and alphabet news organizations's talking heads on television know this, else why would they be doing everything in their power to enhance his candidacy."
sport,I totally agree with your view about McLame and the media. It's sickening!
He campaigns for ANTI ABORTION Republicans TOO (SEE PRESIDENT BUSH IN 2004)
It surprises me that anyone would have a problem answering this. With Hillary comes global surrender and socialist "utopia." McCain stands strong against Islamic fascism. If McCain runs against Hillary, not only will I vote for him, I'll send him money and work for him.
And George W. Bush, who violated his oath to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution by failing to veto this appalling legislation...what of him?
