I'm confused about this whole thing. Doesn't the word ILLEGAL already mean they're criminals? What the heck is going on here?

IMHO it is the felony designation that sticks in the boca raton. As a misdemeanor, illegals when caught are eligible for the "catch and release" system of giving them an appearance ticket, patting them on the head, and saying "go forth and vote for the democRATs." A felony arrest means detention prior to deportation although lib judges can ROR them, I suppose, perpetuating "catch and release."
