Not that I believe this poll for a second, but I'd sure like to find out how many polls commissioned by the MSM never see that light of day because the results don't fit their socialist agenda. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they have had polls taken and retaken until they get the results that suit them.

You wouldn't be surprised. Polls are used to manipulate public opinion and legislation, and the reverse is also true. More importantly, polls are *not* used to gauge public opinion and then craft legislation mirroring those views. Far from it. One classic technique polls are used as cites in news polls i.e. "In 1990, over half of those polled felt that _______, how do you feel about this today?"

Humans are by nature prone to a herd mentality, and if individuals are led en masse to believe that their opinion is a minority one, they can easily be swayed to change their opinion. The trick is hiding how the majority feels, marginalize dissenters and generally divide and conquer. This is why no public input is desired at the local or state level in your community. Nobody is going to willingly adopt policies that ruin their communities, so they have to be hoodwinked. It's a form of national brainwashing, and very effective. Obviously.
