Feinstein Calls Illegals Good 'Citizens', Lou Lets Loose
Today Show/NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

In all its cacophony and moments of absurdity, this morning's Today show segment on immigration was a supremely edifying example of the confusion, high emotion and complexity of the immigration debate. Matters reached their Alice-in-Wonderland apotheosis when Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California was shown in a Senate committee arguing that illegal immigrants are good . . . 'citizens.' Said Feinstein:

"They pay taxes, their children are Americans, they go to schools, they're good citizens and they're needed."

This was in line with the fait accompli argument advanced by La Raza representative Janet Murguia. She referred to what she estimated as the 11-12 million illegal aliens in the country as "people are working in backbreaking work that nobody else wants to do in this country. We need to . . . understand that they are already part of this country."

I assume this poster refers to Southern California being a part of Mexico a couple hundred years ago. Maybe these little fools should read a bit further on the "true history" of the area. Mexicans certainly were not the first to populate the area.

And what's their excuse for jamming into New York, Georgia, South Carolina?? Don't expect logic from these idiots. If they possessed logic, science, engineering, their nations would not be shitholes. They're in love with their propaganda and lying to the soft stupid gringo

"...because without security, your profits are not secure. Ask the oil companies who did business in Mexico."

But they did do business there. And companies are falling all over themselves to move assets into China. Last time I checked, there's potential for nationalization of assets in a communist country. I also believe it would be difficult for the American military to intervene in such an event.

"They pay taxes, their children are Americans, they go to schools, they're good citizens and they're needed."

The first "they" obviously refers to the illegals. Everything after "their children" refers to the children of the illegals, including the part about being good citizens.

You are wrong. I saw it live when Diane Feinstein said this. She's a doddering old fool and due to a Freudian slip of the tongue called these illegals citizens. Subconsciously she considers them citizens. I call her senile based on her demeanor during the hearing, not just this

Makes one wonder if the California coast and all its denizens can be given away to a benevolent, but stern, Mexican government eh?!

Dobbs: "You cannot reform immigration if you cannot control immigration. And you cannot control immigration unless you control and secure your own borders. The rest of this is obfuscation and sham."

Lou has said the truth here. The guest workers will simply be replaced by millions of more illegals unless the border is secured. The applicants for guest worker status cannot be adequately checked unless the border is secured. The first thing to be done is to secure the border. Anything less is a de facto open border policy.

""They pay taxes, their children are Americans, they go to schools, they're good citizens and they're needed." "

Feinstein is an ostrich! We don't need 11 million people to work in agriculture!

Read my post again. I'm not denying that she said what was quoted.

She's a doddering old fool and due to a Freudian slip of the tongue called these illegals citizens.

She may well have at some point, but she didn't in this quote.

Subconsciously she considers them citizens.

No doubt.

"Therefore, we should decriminalize bank robbery, along with extortion, kidnapping, and murder-for-hire. For the children."

BINGO! That's the song of a true left wing, secular Dumbocrat!

Sorry, I don't agree. Don't know if you heard the clip but by her cadence it was clear, IMO, that everything she said was referring to the illegals. Do you really think she meant to say, for example, that the children are needed but not the parents?

Hmmm. BTW, did you know that Dr. Seuss was a big-time propaganda artist for AMERICA during World War II? Some of his cartoons might even be considered. . . racist. Check out his cartoon of Hitler and his idea of a forest, which showed Jews hanging from every tree.

It would be difficult, but not impossible. Ask the Brits. It was called the Opium War.

Further to my earlier reply: I think Feinstein might have meant "good citizens" in talking about the illegals in the sense of being good, decent people, without thinking of what the implications were of calling them citizens.

FWIS, Rush just played the clip of Feinstein and he interpreted in precisely the same way I did.

I'd guess China is much better prepared to fight today than back then.

in a way - I hope this guest worker plan passes.

you will see the biggest surge towards americans joining unions - across service industries especially - in our history. maybe that just what these businesses need to get a dose of.

Somebody really ought to point out to them that if the Indians are the actual owners, the specific tribes that would have title aren't those from southern Mexico, they would be the Comanche, Apache, Navajo, Hopi, etc. who were actually living in this area.

Unfortunately, we pretty well exterminated the native Indians of CA during the Gold Rush days.
