Better yet, lets limit government and cut spending. Then we can cut taxes and let people keep more of the money they earn. That way, they can pay for their own retirement, medical services and prescription drug requirements.
Better yet, let's kick out all the illegals (that have poured into the country since Reagan granted their relatives amnesty) and cut taxes and give back the tax credit that your Ronnie took away to finance his illegals.

The Reagan amnesty of 1986 covered the period of January 1st 1982 through May 1st 1986. Over the remaining two years of Reagan's second term Sen Ted Kennedy slowly gutted the enforcement mechanism for Reagan's employer sanctions. Successive administrations refused to give the Border Patrol proper resources it required to achieve its mission. The 2.6 million illegals who were granted amnesty by Reagan,, were nothing compared to the 12-15 million illegals that entered the US over the last three Presidents, Bush41, Clinton and Bush43!
Reagan's tax reform of 1986 wasn't used to pay for illegals. It was part of a supply-side tax reform package that helped to further stimulate the US economy and increase earnings, consumption, investment and savings.
Actually, the blue bloods of Texas power have been taking care of the pittifully poor Mexicans forever. When I took a trip over the border from Texas when I was around ten years old, I gave away all my shoping money before we made it to the shops. That poverty and filth was the most disgusting and horrible thing I saw in my life.

When it came to immigration, first of all, we voted for Bush in spite of his positions on immigration, not because of them.
And Bush has mutated his position on amnesty, parsing the word to mean no automatic path to citizenship - as opposed to keeping illegal immigrants illegal.
You are quite correct that Bush can go ahead and poke us in the eye over this issue and say Nyuk, Nyuk, Nyuk, you voted for me, deal with it, Moe! He's not running for re-election.
But many others in the GOP are - especially in the House, where all are up for re-election. And guess what they are doing? Listening to the base. If Bush wants GOP control of the House and Senate perpetuated beyond his second term, he had better start listening to the base as well.
Bush doesn't seem to care how much political damage it does as long as he gets it.Why?
You forgot to add that his ability to finish his term of office depends on keeping the Republican majority, but if he keeps this up I won't really care.
Amazing how often Bush shows more starch in his insistence on liberal positions, and in criticizing conservatives, than he does on behalf of anything conservative or in criticizing liberals.

I did vote for W. Twice. But the man I voted for never took office, it seems.
His first term was problematic as well.
W signed CFR in his first term, a bill he acknowledged was un-Constitutional. That's a problem, Mr. President. Those are the ones you're supposed to veto....
