The ones that busted their butts and played by the rules (and can vote) are against allowing these gate crashers to just waltz into what they worked hard for.
The Dems don't get any of the illegals as voters until if and when they are sworn in. McCain & Kennedy are trying to set that up.
Pure propaganda and myth
They're already there, for the most part. Those who are not are, by-and-large, middle to upper class. Amnesty is deliberate ploy being used by the elites on both sides of the aisle to marginalize and attack the conservative Republican base, and blue-collar democrats who together comprise 80% of American citizens.
Amnesty is a 50/50 issue for Hispanic citizens, and will cost the Republicans more Hispanic votes by supporting it.
OTOH - Passing amnesty will create 12-20 million instant Democrats, and permanently marginalize the GOP conservative base.
They're already there.
I think it would be a brilliant strategy to turn 12 million poor ignorant illegals into new voters. 8 out of 10 will likely vote for Democrats.
I am a citizen of half Hispanic dissent and I will vote against any Republican on my ballot that either votes for or voice support for anything with the slightest stench of amnesty. The Hispanic vote is not monolithic on illegal immigration. 46% of Arizona Hispanic voters supported Proposition 200.
