World Terrorism: Granny's Googles/News/History/Much Much More.

Europe's botched civilization, perverted by socialism and lost faith, seems to have lost the will, the passion to sustain itself. If it continues to practice today's multiculturalist leftism, Europe's demographic doom will be sealed. Some harbingers:

In Brussels, Belgium, the most popular name for baby boys is now Mohammad. Sustaining the population of a nation requires that on average each couple gives birth to 2.1 children. The average European couple now has fewer than 1.4 babies, compared to 3.6 babies born to the average Muslim immigrant couple in Europe. Across Western Europe 16 to 20 percent of babies are being born into Muslim families. In France at least 12 percent of the population is already Muslim, the fruits mostly of immigrants from former French colonies in North Africa. If present birth trends continue, by 2030 a quarter of France's people will be Muslim, more than enough to determine who controls the national parliament and executive. As this columnist recently noted, the nuclear-armed French military is already 15 percent Muslim. Adjacent Switzerland is now 20 percent Muslim. The German newspaper Deutsche Welle days ago reported that Germany's birth rate in 2005 fell to a level lower than at the end of World War II, to a "historic low," more than fifty percent lower than those of France and Great Britain. But at a meeting this week in Berlin that brought together the interior ministers of six European nations, Germany's leftwing Social Democrats continued to oppose the application of any test or standard that would restrict who could migrate into Germany.

The burgeoning Muslim population within Europe is not evenly spread. It is largely concentrated in and around big cities, whose local politicians feel its pressure acutely and often bend to that pressure. In the Netherlands the cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam nearly have Muslim majorities now.

These Islamic enclaves are already taking on the character of conquered provinces that no longer belong to the European countries around them. As FrontPage Magazine recently quoted from the new book While Europe Slept by liberal American expatriate Bruce Bawer:

In France, a public official met with an imam at the edge of Roubaix's Muslim district out of respect for his declaration of the neighborhood as Islamic territory to which she had no right of access. In Britain, imams have pressed the government to officially designate certain areas of Bradford as being under Muslim, not British, law. In Denmark, Muslim leaders have sought the same kind of control over parts of Copenhagen. And in Belgium, Muslims living in the Brussels neighborhood of Sint-Jans-Molenbeek already view it not as part of Belgium but as an area under Islamic jurisdiction in which Belgians are not welcome.

Europeans learned to loooove Israel, sort of

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/pages/rosnerBlog.jhtml?itemNo=726970

June 14, 2006
The new Pew Global Attitudes Project offers an interesting
reading for
both Americans and Israelis. "In past Global Attitudes surveys, the
American
public's strong pro-Israel stance set it apart from other countries.
But that
has changed as Germans, in particular, have become much more
sympathetic to
Israel in its dispute with the Palestinians," the authors state. A
similar
poll conducted for The Israel Project by pollster Stan Greenberg a
couple of
weeks ago found similar trends: "In comparison with similar research
conducted
at the end of 2002, French attitudes have undergone profound changes.
Three
years ago, nearly half (47 percent) of the French respondents sided
with the
Palestinians in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The current poll
shows
support for the Palestinians has dropped by over half, to 21 percent,
among
those who did express a preference."

In the new Pew study the French also have become more sympathetic
to
Israel. "Four years ago, French respondents sympathized with the
Palestinians
over Israel by roughly two-to-one (36% to 19%). Today, identical
percentages
sympathize with each side in the Israel-Palestinian dispute."
Greenberg, says
TIP, "believes the change was caused by a paradigm shift of the frame
through
which the French view the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."

In regard to the newly elected Hamas government "Fully 71% of
Germans
and 69% of the French feel the Hamas triumph will be bad for the
Palestinian
people, among those who are aware of the issue." In the U.S its 50%,
"although
just 20% think the Hamas triumph will be a good thing for the
Palestinians."
The British are divided in relation to Hamas: "34% say it will be bad,
while
32% take a positive view." By contrast, "large majorities in Pakistan
(87%),
Egypt (76%), Jordan (68%), and Indonesia (61%) feel that the Hamas
Party
victory will be good for the Palestinian people."

But the situation in the Israeli-Palestinian arena still worries
the
world and the conflict is still perceived as a threat to global peace.
Generally speaking, opinions about threats to global peace "reflect
regional
concerns." The study finds that "While solid majorities in Jordan and
Egypt
see America's presence in Iraq as a great danger, even higher
percentages in
these countries view the Israel-Palestinian conflict as a great danger
to
regional stability and world peace."

However, the conflict is dominant in Western countries as well:
45% in
Britain, 35% in France, 51% in Germany, 52% in Spain also think that
Israeli-Palestinian tensions threaten stability in the Middle East. In
those
countries, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is perceived to be more
dangerous
than the situation with Iran. In the U.S. it is different: 46% mention
Iran as
dangerous while 43% mention the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The survey was conducted among nearly 17,000 people in the United
States
and 14 other nations from March 31 thru May 14. it shows that
"America's
global image has again slipped and support for the war on terrorism has
declined even among close U.S. allies." the U.S. presence in Iraq is
cited at
least as often as Iran - and in many countries more often - as a danger
to
world peace.

However, "Americans and the publics of major U.S. allies share
common
concerns...over the possible nuclear threat posed by Iran." Nearly half
of
Americans view Iran as a "great danger" to stability and to world
peace, up
from 26% in 2003. "Concern over Iran also has risen sharply in Western
Europe,
especially Germany. Currently 51% of Germans see Iran as a great danger
to
world peace, compared with just 18% three years ago."

Opposition to Iran developing nuclear weapons is "nearly
unanimous in
Germany, Japan, France, and Great Britain, as well as in the U.S." 57%
of
Americans view Iran negatively, "though the percentage expressing
unfavorable
opinions has fallen significantly from the recent past." In an earlier
survey
by the Gallup Organization 86% had an unfavorable view of Iran. In
three of
four Western European countries surveyed - Germany, France and Spain -
"two-thirds or more express negative opinions of Iran. The lone
exception is
Great Britain, where unfavorable opinions of Iran outnumber favorable
ones by
a slight margin (39%-34%)."

Good Morning, glad you thought it useful.

We really need to be thinking of more survival methods.

Carjacking is now as common as car theft.

Hardly a day goes by, without there being a report of a hostage situation in America.

It is no longer something that we will read in the paper.

I left some for others to research, and did not look at groups on any of them.

CAF AND CIC ASK WHY THE SECRETIVE BILDERBERG GROUP
WAS ALLOWED TO HIDE FROM MEDIA AND AUTHORITY

-- POWERFUL THINK-TANK CRITICIZED FOR LACK OF TRANSPARENCY

The Canadian Islamic Congress and the Canadian Arab Federation are
asking
Canadian authorities why this past weekend's secretive Ottawa meeting
of
the high-powered Bilderberg group was kept strictly off-limits to all
media, local authorities, and the public.

CIC and CAF, which advocate for peace with justice throughout the
world,
are asking why the highest civil powers in Canada have uncritically
deferred to the wishes of this elusive organization whose members
include a
Who's Who of the global financial and political elite.

Reputed to control enough corporate empires, public money,
multi-national
military resources and politics (democratic and otherwise) to rule the
world -- and there are those who suspect that it already does -- the
Bilderberg organization has thwarted virtually every attempt to call it
to
account for the effects that its enormous cumulative influence has had
on
the world for more than 50 years.

"This enormous concentration of power that appears to serve only its
own
interests is a disturbing factor on the entire global scene," today's
joint
CIC-CAF statement said. "It can mean that everything of significance
concerning world affairs is being manipulated toward certain outcomes
behind the scenes -- and not necessarily for the good of humanity."

Of primary concern to both Canadian groups is the impression that any
individual country's political and judicial authority mean little or
nothing to the Bilderberg organization agenda.

"If this group will not say with any clarity or transparency what it is
really up to, then we suspect that in the long term, it is up to no
good
... Why then, are we giving what amounts to a conspiracy think-tank
exclusive hide-out space on our sovereign territory, to plot their
manipulation of the entire world order?" the statement asked.

Among the 2006 Bilderberg meeting participants were:

David Rockefeller; Henry Kissinger; Queen Beatrix of Holland; New York
Gov.
George Pataki; the CEOs of Coca-Cola, Credit Suisse, Royal Bank of
Canada,
Power Corporation and others; media barons; and a diverse roster of
influential European and North American politicos. Significant for
Canadian
foreign policy issues is the reported presence of prominent figures
involved in planning the U.S. invasion of Iraq - Richard Perle and
Ahmad
Chalabi.

White House power-players Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz (now head
of
the World Bank) have addressed the Bilderbergers in the past.

Tube passengers treated after over 800 trapped underground

LONDON, June 16 (KUNA) -- A number of passengers on the London Underground had to be treated by the ambulance service Friday after hundreds of commuters were trapped underground for up to two hours, a spokesman for the system said.

More than 800 people were caught up in the incident on London Underground's Central Line, which was caused by a defective train.

The line was suspended after a train was stalled behind the defective train on the approach to Bank station.

It took almost two hours to get the 820 passengers out of the underground.

London Ambulance Service said it sent five ambulances to the scene and they treated 12 people for exhaustion and dehydration.

The London Underground spokesman said "Rail safety authorities are considering whether a formal investigation should be held." "We apologise to those involved in this incident for the inconvenience and disruption caused." "We are working to restore services on the Central line," the spokesman added. (end) he.

Reports Zarqawi successor in Kirkuk suburbs

IRBIL, June 16 (KUNA) -- News is spreading locally that the new Qaeda leader in Iraq Abu Hamza Al-Muhajer might be seeking hiding in Kirkuk suburbs in Northern Iraq as violence had recently escalated in the city.

Air Vice Marshal Anwar Hama Ameen of the Iraqi Army told reporters that "Based on intelligence and security information, the new Qaeda leader might be in Southern or Western Kirkuk and probable areas for his current whereabouts include Al-Huweijah, Al-Zab, Al-Rashad, Al-Abbasi and Southwest Kirkuk." The official noted there was constant unrest in the area since the fall of the Saddam regime that killed hundreds of people, civilians and security personnel, and intelligence authorities also indicate presence of a large number of terrorist groups and remnants of the former regime.

He stressed "The increase in violence in the city, which witnessed more than nine explosions including seven car bomb explosions in just two days, justifies such suspicion." The Vice Marshal also said "Such development was expected and we have taken measures to counter terrorists' infiltration into the local population and two groups of terrorists were arrested. The first group included seven Mujahideen Shura members and the second four known Qaeda members, the official pointed out.

Four Iraqi police personnel were killed among an overall 14 people Tuesday and 41 people were injured in the Kirkuk explosions.

The US army had meanwhile released a photo believed to be that of Zarqawi's successor Al-Muhajer.(end) sbr.

"Credible information" prompts warning Americans of Mideast, African terror
MIL-U.S.-MIDEAST-TERROR
"Credible information" prompts warning Americans of Mideast, African terror

WASHINGTON, June 15 (KUNA) -- "Credible information" has indicated terrorist groups seek to continue attacks against U.S. interests in the Middle East and North Africa, the State Department announced.

"Terrorist actions may include bombings, hijackings, hostage taking, kidnappings and assassinations," the department advisory said. "While conventional weapons such as explosive devices are a more immediate threat in many areas, use of non-conventional weapons, including chemical or biological agents, must be considered a possible threat." Increased security at official U.S. facilities has led terrorists and their sympathizers to seek softer targets such as public transportation, residential areas and public areas where people congregate including restaurants, hotels, clubs and shopping areas, the advisory said.

"The November 2005 bombings against three Western hotel chains in Jordan and the April 2006 bombing in the resort town of Dahab, Egypt, underscore the intent of terrorist entities to target facilities perceived to cater to Westerners," the announcement said.

Terrorists also may target movie theaters, liquor stores, bars, casinos or any similar type establishment, regardless of whether they are owned and operated by host country nationals, the advisory said, adding, "Due to varying degrees of security at all such locations, Americans should be particularly vigilant when visiting these establishments." "The death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the deaths of three detainees at the U.

S. naval base in Guantanamo, and clashes between Palestinians and Israelis have the potential to produce demonstrations and unrest throughout the region, " the announcement said.

Uncertainty associated with the change in the Palestinian Authority government in the West Bank and Gaza may lead to increased levels of instability in the region, and anti-American violence could include possible terrorist actions against aviation, ground transportation and maritime interests, specifically in the Middle East, including the Red Sea, the Gulf, the Arabian Peninsula and North Africa, the advisory said.

Extremists may be planning to carry out attacks against Westerners and oil workers on the Arabian Peninsula, the announcement noted.

"Armed attacks targeting foreign nationals in Saudi Arabia that resulted in many deaths and injuries, including U.S. citizens, appear to have been preceded by extensive surveillance," the announcement said. "Tourist destinations in Egypt that are frequented by Westerners recently have been attacked resulting in many deaths and injuries, including Americans. Extremists may be surveilling Westerners, particularly at hotels, housing areas and rental car facilities. Potential targets may include U.S. contractors, particularly those related to military interests." Americans considering seaborne travel near the Horn of Africa or in the southern Red Sea should exercise extreme caution, as there have been several incidents of armed attacks and robberies at sea by pirates in the last year, the advisory warned.

"When transiting around the Horn of Africa or in the Red Sea near Yemen, it is strongly recommended that vessels travel in convoys, and maintain good communications contact at all times," the announcement said. (end) rm.

Senior Taliban commander surrenders

KABUL, June 16 (KUNA) -- A senior Taliban commander on Friday surrendered and vowed to support the Afghan government and the ongoing reconstruction process in the war-battered country. The one-legged former commander Mulla Ibrahim announced his allegiance to the Karzai-led government during a ceremony held in the troubled province of Kandahar on Friday. Senior provincial officials and officers of foreign military were also present on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Mulla Ibrahim, who was once known for his loyalty to the Taliban, said he was joining the reconciliation process in the interest of his nation and Islam. He said he did not side with the Taliban since the fall of their regime in 2001. Discussing the recent suicide attacks and bombing in the southern region of Afghanistan, the former Taliban commander said he did not approve such acts. Killing of civilians was not allowed in Islam, he argued. The Afghan government had started the National Reconciliation Programme heading by the former interim president and one of the most respected religious leaders Sibghatullah Mujaddedi. According to the Afghan government, more than 1,500 dissidents from different groups have so far shunned violence and joined the government to play their role in reconstruction of the country. UNHCR says 78,000 people displaced outside Dili

GENEVA, June 16 (KUNA) -- The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said Friday that official estimates indicate that there are 78,000 people displaced outside the capital, while the figure of the displacement in Dili stands at 69,000. UNHCR spokesperson Ron Redmond told reporters that while the situation appears to have stabilized somewhat on the streets of Dili, the refugee agency is still concerned for the physical security of people in the makeshift camps and settlements, particularly at night. "We welcome the increased patrolling of foreign troops in areas where displaced people have gathered and are continuing to press for a boosted security presence," said Redmond. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) will start to deliver food aid to over 40,000 internally displaced Timorese in the eastern districts of Baucau, Lautem and Viqueque early next week. According to IOM spokesperson Jean Philippe Chauzy steady rain last night and this morning added to the misery of the thousands of displaced people sheltering in makeshift IDP camps around Dili and on neighboring Atauro Island.

Chauzy added that his organization received this week a USD 837,000 grant from the UN's Central Emergency Revolving Fund (CERF) and AUD 300,000 (USD 223, 000) from Australia to deliver food, water and non-food relief items to the IDPs and coordinate aid to the IDP camps. (end) hn.

Zarqawi Document Reveals Ba'athist - al-Qaeda 'Strategic Relationship'
The Standing and Performance of MNSTC-I-Trained Iraqi National Guard Cited as Their Collective Downfall
By Steve Schippert

The Iraqi government has released information regarding a letter from a leader of the Ba’athist insurgency to al-Zarqawi that was recovered from the blast area where al-Zarqawi was killed. The Kuwait News Agency was provided a copy of the text, which revealed the “strategic relationship” between the Ba’athist insurgency and al-Qaeda in Iraq.

There are a lot of items worthy of discussion, and certainly much will ensue in short order. One of the first points to catch our eyes, however, was the open recognition of the devastating impact of the formation, training and fielding of the Iraqi National Guard forces.

It admits that the “position of resistance in Iraq requires reconsideration of the acts and incidents in the country, with the aim of reaching the best means for realizing the best results, in particular following success of the National Guard forces in forming a massive shield and effective arm in the interest of the US forces and this ultimately scaled down to a large extent the scope of losses sustained by the US forces”.

It adds that the “time factor” has “negatively affected Al-Qaeda in Iraq due to many reasons including formation and enhancing the capabilities of the National Guards up to the level of launching attacks and carrying out mass arrests within the resistance controlled areas. This ended up in loss of many elements and launching an anti media resistance campaign … and sowing schism in its fold …” [Emphasis added.]

The “formation and enhancing the capabilities of the National Guards up to the level of launching attacks and carrying out mass arrests” has been the direct responsibility of the Multi-National Security Transition Command – Iraq.

Several times, we at ThreatsWatch have directed readers to an underappreciated publication called The Advisor from the good men and women of the Multi-National Security Transition Command - Iraq. They are the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines and international forces responsible for precisely that training which stood up the Iraqi National Guard, as well as the Iraqi police forces and other units. (View all Iraqi units MNSTC-I trains here.)

With far too little fanfare or apparent appreciation, MNSTC-I has offered regular updates on the training and progress of the Iraqi forces in their regular bi-weekly publication, The Advisor (pdf). (Subscribe to publication alerts here.) Perhaps it’s not as exciting to read or report on as an IED attack, a car bomb or a major operation in al-Anbar province, but as the words of the Ba’athist letter to Zarqawi indicate so clearly, the continued training and standing of the Iraqi Army has been and is every bit as important as any other aspect of the war.

Often, the MNSTC-I-trained Iraqi forces were belittled in reports, often denigrating them for not having enough troops, charged with too often simply ‘tagging along’ with Coalition Forces, not being active enough and, then, also oddly being too aggressive. Often the only time Iraqi forces were highlighted was when there were complaints that they were too Shi’ite-dominated, suspected of participating in sectarian violence or were infiltrated by members of al-Qaeda or the Ba’athist insurgency.

Leave it to that very Ba’athist insurgency of Hussein’s hangovers and the terrorists of al-Qaeda in Iraq to finally be the ones to recognize their proficiency, importance and devastation wrought upon both of them. Iraq surely is quite proud of their new veterans in new uniforms.

And we should all be proud of our men and women who have performed and still perform their duties exceptionally in training the Iraqi army, navy, air force, police and special units.

ThreatsWatch salutes the Multi-National Security Transition Command – Iraq team, who did the heavy lifting and hoisted the sun, making The Dawn of the Iraq Army possible.

GAZA, June 16 (Reuters) - Hamas militants distanced themselves on Friday from a ceasefire offer that the Palestinian government led by the Islamist group made to Israel.

Differences over the truce offer -- which was conditional on Israel halting military activity in Gaza and the West Bank -- could point to disagreement between Hamas's grassroots and the government over its tactics toward the Jewish state.

"We are not interested in making any offers or proposals. When the occupation stops its killings and crimes against our people then the factions may look into the issue in accordance with the interests of our people," said Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas's official spokesman.

DUBAI, June 16 (Reuters) - A key Iraqi militant body affiliated with al Qaeda pledged on Friday to continue a holy war against U.S.-led forces until "doomsday", despite the killing of Qaeda's leader in Iraq Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

"The lackey government and the crusader forcers ... will comprehend this message in coming days. We will have rounds with them in which they will taste the bitterness of death," said a statement purported to be by Abdullah bin Rashid al-Baghdadi, leader of the Mujahideen Shura Council.

"Jihad (holy war) will continue until doomsday. It will not be affected, delayed or weakened by the departure of one of its leaders," said the audio statement read by a spokesman.

Hundreds Rally for "Free Country" in Moscow on Russia Day

Created: 13.06.2006 18:21 MSK (GMT +3), Updated: 11:51 MSK

On June 11, Day of Russia, some 600 people gathered in Moscow centre for a rally entitled “Free country for free people”.

The protesters, mostly young people, rallied against nationalism, mass media censorship, political arrests, army hazing and the so-called “Operation Successor” that kicked off ahead of nearing presidential elections.

The police did not allow young activists of pro-Kremlin Russia United party unwrap flags with the party symbolic.

The holiday marks the adoption on June 12, 1990 of a Declaration of Independence by lawmakers. It was declared a holiday in 1994 by President Boris Yeltsin and was known for nearly a decade as Independence Day.

Some 200,000 police officers were out in the streets to enforce law and order, Russian media agencies reported.
