Someone on another border suggested a solution that seems to me like it might work.

Just as in the War on Drugs, local police confiscate assets (vehicles, property, cash) of drug dealers, why couldn't local law enforcement confiscate assets of illegals? Surely very shortly, we wouldn't have to deport them, they would leave to avoid having their assets taken.

I'm cure there must be a hundred reasons why this wouldn't work but I can't think of one.

Exactly:

a) stronger border enforcement (a fence)

b)ban wire transfers to Mexico (they have to carry cash back in)

c)if they are caught here, civil forfeiture and deportation

d)civil forfeiture for employers of illegal aliens

Wages for meat packers will double the instant Tysons has a whole factory confiscated for employing illegals.

If they seize the assets of the illegals, the ACLU would then go & seize the assets of the legals for enforcing our laws. It's already been done.
