They fired me after some of the guys made a bomb and blew one of the doors half way off.

I don't blame them. Six years in the Navy and you can't even blow a door all the way off it's hinges? Heck, I blew a toilet into four pieces in junior high.

Yep.I wonder if they have a Dean Wormer there and double secret probation. Besides what would you expect from a place that gives tenure to such idiots as Ward Churchill.

Me too! Problem is, when I finally went back to complete school, it was nowhere near as enjoyable as the movie portrayed.

Booze just helps to reduce class size, improve any grading on the curve and the natural selection process. That said, I would prefer they do the drinking in the frat houses and not get on the road and perhaps kill some of us who have already survived the process.

Usually I don't drink but tonight's an exception.

My fiance just died in a raku kiln explosion.

It just helps me cope.

kids have been dying in accidents for years because of the local prohibition laws.

No, they've been dying because their values and priorities are seriously screwed up. It's more important to them to get drunk, than to avoid causing accidents that may get them killed or maimed along with innocent other people that they crash into.

I've actually been to an Otis Day and the Knights concert.

Actually more of a party than a concert.

You should definitely have thanked them. You didn't want that job anyway.

I never understood why any frat would want to be affiliated with the campus anyway. Far better to be open to everyone around that school (especially feeder schools like colleges in the area), to have people working for a living involved so as to make the frat more influential and efficiently run, to be able to do things without getting campus nanny permission, and to NOT have to deal with Kampus Kops.

You are dead wrong. This is where the Libertarian side of me starts. People ought to have freedom and freewill. It is not up to you, the government or anybody else to restrict their decision making in that way. You or I might not agree with their decision to drink and drive, but it is an restriction of their freedom to say they can't buy and consume alcohol where they live. I will argue with any Baptist or other Christan about what the Bible says about alcohol consumption. Only excessive consumption is wrong.

I am Presbyterian and devout Chrisian, but many Christians have completely bought into the temperance/ prohibitionist movement, and in my opinion, they have ignored the real Biblical approach to alcohol. If Jesus demonstrated nothing else, he demonstrated over and over again that man is a free moral agent. Many Christians choose to ignore that fact. Worse yet, I believe the failure to recognize that fact has been a real obstacle to our charge to spread the Gospel message to non-believers and win them to Christ. What is more important, restricting someone's right to consume alcohol, or winning their soul to salvation? But it is the current mob-fed modern Christian approach in this country to try to restrict their freedoms to drink (or do other things)rather than win their hearts. Same thing with abortion. If we love, serve and minister to people, much of the abortion problem will go away because we win their hearts to an upright life, not because we legislate their right to an abortion. We moralist/ Christians have gotten lazy and try to restrict freedoms when the real way to fixing the problem is by winning hearts and souls to Christ.

Do they make poor choices? Absolutely. Should we look down our long, moralistic noses at them and legislate their behavior? I think that is a stupid, lazy, non-Biblical and proven ineffective approach to the problem.

Great. Let's punish kids for doing what we did while in college. Adults suck. And now I'm one of them.

I still remember. Why don't you? /pearl jam
