I'm sorry that I'm not an expert in Bible prophecy myself, I will let others to answer in details. Here's a short rant of what I know that hopefully helps you. :)
God is in control of all human events even if they may sound out of control from our own perspectives. He always knows what the ending will be, and there ahve been prophecies written in the Scriptures about Israel and the Jewish people from Moses' time right up to Jesus's apostle John in AD 98.

I think that's an interesting perspective, that the outcome of the Russian/Persion invasion of Israel is the world government. It certainly would provide the impetus for strengthening a world political body like the UN or it's successor.
