Utterly disagree. McCain was a war hero.
But then, so was Duke Cunningham.
A prisoner that jacknifes on his buddies under pressure is not generally considered a hero.
I feel sorry that he was a POW, but then, he wouldn't have been flying that airplane over North Vietnam if the Navy had been able to wash him out of aviation like they do other screw-ups.
Being the son and grandson of admirals has certain perks.
Yeah, we know. He reminds us all the time. While I would never compare McCain's sacrifices to Kerry's war service, they share the common trait of thinking serving in the military 30 years ago entitles them to hold elected office. McCain is one of the biggest frauds going in American politics, which is quite an accomplishment. Remeber that Benedict Arnold lead the Americans to a victory at Saratoga which was arguably the turning point in that war.
