There's no denying that Mike DeWine's record is mediocre. I wish he had retired and Ken Blackwell was running in his place.

A strong showing by Bill Pierce would really send DeWine a message.

We don't want a strong showing. We want a win. With what DeWine has done in the past few weeks, it is becoming possible. He is pretending the primary doesn't exist, and trying to look moderate, because in his ignorance he thinks that's what it will take to beat Sherrod Brown.

DeWine digs his grave further with each passing day, angering Ohio conservatives more and more:
- He's behind the thinly-disguised amnesty effort in the Senate on Immigration
- (THIS IS BIG) He ripped Rumsfeld just in the past couple of days in a SALON interview, saying that " I think history will judge him very harshly.” Go here for my post on it ("Mike DeWine: Exactly What Remains of Him as a Conservative? Now He Stabs Rumsfeld in the Back") -- I'd send you to Salon, but a lot of people around here don't like to give them traffic.
- He won't vote to drill in ANWR.
- He doesn't support Second Amendment rights.

Like Zell Miller has said, I could go on and on and on. Now we can't even count on him to support the prosecution of the War on Terror.
