Going to see the movie today or tomorrow.
I'm sure he said exactly the same thing when good Night and Good Luck came out, it being about the seven millionth movie made about the "horrors of the McCarthy era." In contrast, three movies about terrorism is "too much."
Could it be that the three films are a symptom of our addiction to fables of redemptive uplift that shield us from the true dimensions of the tragedy? Redemptive uplift: It's the official religion of the media, anyway. There must be a silver lining; it's always darkest before the dawn; the human spirit will triumph over evil; there must be a pony.
Despicable little POS. I'm sure he said the same thing about the hundreds of thousands of Hollywood movies made about evil corporate fatcat polluters brought to justice by plucky underdog trial lawyers (The Rainmaker, The Runaway Jury, A Civil Action, etc. etc. etc.).
The difference is that there really were terrorists on Flight 93, and there really were unarmed Americans who stood up to them. That's why it's necessary to call it a "fable" with "a pony"--implying that it's a made-up children's story--to put it on the same plane as Hollywood lefty fantasies that we know are made up.
Has anyone ever complained that Hitler had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor?
