Of course Slate would dislike any film where the average American comes out the hero. We are supposed to believe that only the elite can be heroic and that we are blessed to have them to watch over our "uneducated" selves.
Exactly...the epitomy of Hillary's "it takes a village"...because the underlying premise of that notion is that said village must also have the elite village "elders" (to which these people see themselves annoited) to guide the poor miscreants that live there.
