Global warning and Blame Bush...

Actually read an article on this , I believe February or early March. I was projected to be a very bad year for pollen due to the mild winter.

I was out cutting the grass the other day and my eyes were tearing so bad i could hardly see. I think the sping wild onion count was a factor too.

My allergies are worse this Spring than they have been in many years.

Benadryl is my friend.

Great. I am going to have to put down a drop cloth in my office.

In the last 40 years nurseries have gone almost entirely to male plants for landscape use. That could be why allergies are so bad. There is more pollen in the urban and suburban areas than in rural areas.

It must be bad because I'm a mess this year. Usually spring pollen doesn't bug me unless I stick my face into a plant that's dumping it on that day. I usually only need my drugs for ragweed season in August & September.

Whenever out in public, kx9088's wife would recieve shocked looks and then kx9088 would recieve looks of disgust...as if he were beating his wife.

I told her we could do like they do for boxers, cut her eye lid and drain it.

Actually, I am usually highly susceptible to spring-time allergies, but, knock on wood, so far have been very clear. (This is in the northern Chicago Suburban area, btw.) My problem, however, is more leaf mold than pollen.

I'm in FL. There is no start to the allergy season here - it's all year round. THis year, I was thinking I might need a snow shovel to scoop up the pollen all over my driveway!

BTW, my antihistamine of choice is Zytrec - very broad-spectrum, one-a-day prescription med. I've tried EVERYTHING over the counter for the leaf mold problem, and none of them were effective.

My allergies hit late August through mid October like clockwork since I moved to Minnesota, and I suffered miserably for 12 years! Last year I went on an allergy diet I concocted myself - heavy on omega 3s - and I was given blessed relief. Totally amazing.

I don't remember Al Gore warning us about this as the warmer oceans rise.

I'm in year 3 of immuno-therapy for trees/grass and other common allergens. Last year I had the best spring/summer of my life. This year is the exact opposite. I'm getting my butt kicked by Mother Nature.
