I recall a guy on the Polk County Board of Supervisors (Des Moines, IA) who got his law degree at Drake University while supposedly holding down this full time job.

Lots of people earn degrees while working full-time (me included). It means no TV, and less sleep; but it can be done without cheating the employer. (I don't know about law degrees -- some law schools prohibit students from having even part-time jobs.)
