Bush has repeatedly burned the base.

I like Bush. I think he's an honest decent man.

Unfortunately, politically, he's turned out like his dad on issues here at home. "No child left behind", senior drug benefits, farm subsidies, growing government much faster than Clinton and rewarding illegal aliens with citizenship. All of which costs hundreds of billions, if not trillions of taxpayer dollars.

you nailed it -- Compassionate Socialism. Which in the end is absolutely no different than the leftist demos. Oh how I dream of another President being like Cleveland. I wonder if the nurturing aspects of President's wives push them to push these wholly unconstitutional programs. No matter how tempting or just it appears, government should not to take from one and give to another.

Ya know, I can forgive him for spending like a drunken sailor, what with the WOT and all...even to the point of throwing some meat to the societal parasites in order to preserve political capital.

What I can't get tolerate is allowing all that to fight the war, then having him leave our pants around our ankles so some SOB builder can get a fifteen percent discount on his cost to frame new houses.

I may hate the other side, but I despise someone on my own side betraying me. If the republicans won't dance with the one what brung 'em, the don't deserve to go to the dance at all! I will not vote for a democrat, but that doesn't mean I WILL vote for a republican.

""Bush has repeatedly burned the base.""

That is untrue.

The only betrayal Bush did was CFR.

Immigration
Spending
Medicare

All those were known as far back as 1999. If conservatives chose not to listen because they were so desperate to get rid of Clinton/Gore, they have only themselves to blame.

Bush said in 1999, you cant balalnce the budget on the backs of hte poor.

Bush oppossed Prop 182 as far back as 1994

Bush ran on expanding medicare

Ask any Texan was Bush conservative as Gov, the answer will be on taxes yes, everything else no.

Bush is first and foremost a politician. If he were truly honest and decent he wouldn't be in politics, where he must deceive and mislead and compromise virtue for pragmatism as a matter of routine.
