Early in the Clinton administration it was reported that the White House held 900 FB I files on Republicans and others. It was explained away as a bureaucratic snafu and the press corp was happy yo let the matter drop.

As to why no one continues to pursue the story, well maybe your question becomes rhetorical if you let your paranoia out.

They don't have the physical files any more--they just entered the jucy parts into computers, and they still have the hard drives.
