Probe into Patches treatment to be a farce (Capitol police drive lots of drunk congressmen home)
NY Post ^ | 5/10/06 | Cindy Adams

PAY attention. The so-called probe into the D.C. cops who helped zonko Patrick Kennedy home instead of slamming him into the jug? Ain't to be no deepdeepdeep probe. Like more a probe-let. The Capitol fuzz have always been congressional custodians. He isn't the first representative they've blotted up. Many a congresscreature has slurped one too many and been lent a helping patrol car. The Kennedy name just spotlighted this more than others. So, this probe will result in zero. Ain't nobody looking to really run through a thorough investigation.

Remember, you heard it here first.

Hardly surprising information, and it's just Cindy Adams, but at least she put the obvious into print.

I can't wait to see the front page treatment the Times gives the report wherein the Capitol Police find that the Capitol Police acted properly.

Have another drink Patsy. They got your back!

It's a shame those who hold the country in their hands hold bottles more often.

Cindy ("Ma Moonbat") Sheehan could be his missing auntie. There is a facial resemblance,

A number of years ago, the Sacramento sheriff was pulled over for DUI... he magically made it home without arrest.

Unfortunately for him, there were some salary disputes going on with the union, so lets just say "the word leaked out".

He eventually lost his job. But then again, his last name was not Kennedy.

My stepfather, a retired CHP with an alcohol problem was pulled over one night. He magically made it home too.

The next morning at 6:30am, a knock came to his front door.

It was the CHP officer that pulled him over and drove him home. "Mr xxxxx, I am here to offer you a choice. Either you make a phone call in the next half hour to enter a treatment center, or I am going to take you in".

He has been off the booze for over 10 years now. Best thing that ever happened to him and thank God he didn't kill someone.

Well she just told us something we all already knew.

I would like to add that as soon as it dies down a little more the Cynthia Mckinney assault case wil be set on the back burner and will eventually dissappear too.

Hell there wouldnt be no sense in being one if you couldnt act like one. Whats the sense in being impotent if you cant act impotent. Yeah its the punch line to an old joke, Just like these investigations. An old joke.

This CHP officer did the right thing - both for your stepfather and the public. I suspect this is why the Kennedy incident leaked. The DC officers had been promised several times that Kennedy would quit driving drunk. After the latest incident, their only recourse was to go public - and force Kennedy to deal with (at least one of) his problems.

This story died a quick death. Where are the waitresses/bartenders who saw him drinking? Why aren't the cops being interviewed on the cable TV shows? Who was the women he was supposibly with? If he's addicted to pain killers, which ones? Ask his spokesman. This story just went completely off the radar. Rush's case played out night after night for two weeks and then on and off over the last three years. If anyone ever doubts there is a double standard or no left wing bias in the DBM think again.

The news reporters arent going after the waitresses. they arent looking for the alleged girlfriend , they dont want to interview the cops. In other words the story died because the media wanted it dead. Did you really expect anything else form that liberal crowd of crapheads?

Professional courtesy. Back in the 80s, I was hit head-on by a very-drunk, off duty LAPD Sergeant.

Sheriffs came....and took him home.

Later married into a cop family. We had some interesting conversations re: professional courtesy.

It wouldn’t surprise me if taking drunk Congressmen home was SOP for the Capitol Police.
