Also, did you see that Tom Cox made it to the runoff in that Metro race?

Sorry, if this is off-topic. It is Oregon related.

Tony Snow was just on the Lars Larson Show to defend Bush's 'plan.' It was pure BS and filibustering on Snow's part.

If you think conservatives have a friend in this White House on our nation's sovereignty, better think again.

We are being sold down the river (and I am pi**ed).

Saxton is the best thing that has happened to the GOP in 20 years. Regardless if he is the perfect GOP candidate or not, he is the GOP candidate with a CHANCE! let's back him, let's get out the vote as we did in '04, and the Governor's seat is ours.----

Hes actually not the best thing that has happened to the GOP in years. Sorry hes not perfect on almost every GOP issue and just because he has an (R) next to his name doesn't mean hes a true (R). All I will say about Saxton good luck getting people to volunteer for your campaign, you have true off many of us ground troops who are always willing to pound on doors and make calls.

Well republicans were working to get Dole/Kemp elected he gave money and voted for Clinton/Gore, when he lost to Mannix in 02 he went and gave money to Teddy K to defeat the party that let him run on their ticket. Well many tax advocates were fighting taxes... Saxton was supporting the Multnomah county income and business tax. And not to mention hes pro choice, anti-gun, pro civil unions. Sorry thats not my type of (R).

I rather lose with a candidate who doesn't talk two sides of his mouth who actually is a true (R) then win with a liberal republican.

Come November Ill write in Jason Atkinson or some other conservative.

I wasn't able to hear Tony.
Thank you for your report.

Did you happen to catch Cheney on Rush?

He seemed uneasy to me.
He wasn't his usual self.

Thanks for the ping, Salvation!

It's sad when two Democrats run in the state's GOP primary and split almost 80% of the vote.

I, along with only about 20% of the other voters in the GOP primary, chose rather to vote for a Republican.

Thanks to the last 12 years of the state GOP leadership squandering the fortune of the thriving economy of the late '90s in full tilt tax & spend mode, the state party, on life support for the last two years, fades a little more this week.

Don't get me wrong, it is not likely I will ever vote for a Democrat, but out of all of the GOP primary winners for all of the political districts in which I reside, there is only one who I will vote for in November - Jim Feldkamp for 4th district US Congress. That, and in the contested state Supreme Court race, as a defensive vote I will support the nominally Republican Jack Roberts over the heroine of gay activists Virginia Linder. The others - Saxton, Torrey, and Farr, I won't help them raise my taxes or take my guns.

Saxton isn't a FR conservative. But neither is he the liberal Mannix tried to portray him.

Saxton spent a lot of time on Lars Larson, and was grilled by him and callers on a range of issues. Almost all his issues were to my satisfaction for a guy more acceptable than the current guv. Afterall, it is Oregon.

Saxton went to school with friends of mine, and is regarded as a fiscal conservative. He is running as a conservative, and says he doesn't support gay marriage; supports gun rights; and opposes illegal immigration and amnesty. I have even heard him suggest its time to start kicking illegals off the Oregon benefits train, and to get a batter handle on just how many illegal aliens are in the Oregon State Prison system (900+ at a cost of $65 million per year).

Saxton DID make some contributions to democrats. But the worst appears to be Blumenauer, Wyden. And the years in which they were made, Saxton gave more to the republicans running. The confusion arises, perhaps, from his law firm's giving. Most I am familiar with hedge their bets, as did his.

I sincerely hope Saxton is the next Governor of Oregon. Hope my fellow prisoners here would agree. Face it. Oregon is not some state that is going to give us a JD Hayworth, Jon Kyle, Tom Tancredo, or something like that.

The Multnomah County Judicial race for Position 31 will be a runoff between Kathleen Payne (super-liberal who has made a career of sucking at the public trough) and Cheryl Albrecht. I voted for Cheryl and will do all I can to get her elected. I urge all Multnomah County voters to give their support to Cheryl!

How do you know that Kathleen Payne is liberal? My friend's PAC endorsed her because she was endorsed by Steve Doell of Crime Victims United, who has a good record of supporting conservative judicial candidates. Where did he go wrong?

How do I know she is a liberal? Well, for starters, I know her. I know her now ex-husband and her present husband as well. I know what her political philosophy is, which is liberal Democrat. I know that she has used her position to get her own kids out of trouble when they were drinking and mouthing off to the police and that she thought it was funny. She appears to think that she is exempt from following the rules. I know that she is anti-military. I know that she conducted the longest and most expensive trial in the state of Oregon that accomplished nothing. (Read about the Nason trial) I know that she has been described by many judges and trial attorneys as "arrogant, mean-spirited, humorless, and ineffectual". I know that she is not a person of good moral character, and I consider that important when selecting a judge.

She is getting support from some groups because of her husband's position and friends.

Never trust a woman who has no women friends.
