It can't be changed. I new about this particular aspect of the forum coming in and I accept it as part of being in the game.

This happens every once in a while, like clockwork, FR has it's bitchfests.

It's good for us. I don't recall another thread where the Mods and Jim have been so involved. Kinda a glimpse into the lives of the FR gods.

Everyone will certainly be 'fine with the cost' directly, but it is those indirect costs that they don't see that will piss them off. Just like everyone has no problem with current military spending, because they understand what that is. I wonder how many people who use the 'drunken sailor' charge have ever run the numbers to see just how much spending outside of War, Katrina and Medicaid has really increased. Two of those three items were not exactly planned. Eventually, someone is going to get their pet project axed, and watch the bitching begin!

Republican rule is most notable for its utter liberalism. From increasing the department of education, to actively flaunting border security, to massive spending in every area -- including freakin' prescription drugs -- I can barely tell the difference. Probably the Repub's best record comes on guns and SCOTUS appointments. Other than that, I see little reason not to bash.

I would guess that almost everyone here would agree with your frustrations over the above issues. However, I believe there is one main reason Republicans allow these things to happen. That reason is the power of the MAINSTREAM MEDIA, It is surely the case that the power of the MSM has declined in the last few years, but the MSM has had and still has such power to influence the average voter, that the Republicans see that as a driver.

We have to continue to drive the MSM influence down. I believe there is no other reason Republicans give us the things that frustrate us. They do not have the way to counter the influence of the MSM. The MSM is the main reason so many still vote democrat. They (the MSM) will not let the true democrat be seen by the voters.

One of the ways we can continue to lessen the influence of the MSM is to support FR and not allow anyone to destroy it.

In four years, Bush doubled the GOP Hispanic vote. Who is to say that the GOP cannot continue the trend? Anything less then 80% Hispanic and 90% black vote, means that the Democrats LOSE. Can you dig it?

GW Bush is not running in 2008. The Hispanic vote is not one voting bloc or easy to define. Cuban-Americans vote heavily for the GOP. Puerto Rican-Americans vote heavily Dem. In any event, pandering to the Hispanic vote or the black vote by compromising your principles or even worse, approving a bill that could seriously damage the very foundation of this country goes beyond partisan politics.

If this pandering for votes results in the loss of support from part of your base, then the Republicans LOSE. Can you dig it?

Sometimes you can be too clever by half. It sounds like this strategery came from the brain of Karl Rove who almost lost the election to the most liberal senator from the most livberal state in country despite having a good economy and the advantages of incumbency.
