It becomes a mute point, when our elected officials give us nothing to motivate the base voters, let alone try to reach out to those otherwise open to voting Republican based on our conservative principals. "Get out the vote" means nothing when our officials cheapen our Party's principled platform. Republican strength is that people believe that we standing for something; the Democrats just have to promise to care to drive out their voters.
It wasn't a 'pukin dog' gif. Frankly, I am surprised a woman would post the 'gif' you posted. I figured you for a man.
If tomorrow is as successful as it was today...you'll need a bigger boat.
Sleep well.
Hey nopardons. I've been doing well. My boy got involved with Civil Air Patrol and that took away my freepin time. Which I supposed worked out.
I wasn't pleased with the direction the GOP was going and got tired of carping on it. The dems do what they do so well--point fingers and yell loudly getting nothing done.
I'm Back. I hope for awhile.
Hey onyx - I trust ya!
Yikes.
Some others, too.
I really blame myself in trusting some others, though.
You may have succeeded in beating the Sloth into submission (Islam anyone?), but allow me to suggest that being told by anyone that, for examples: (1) amnesty isn't amnesty, (2) our country of predominantly native born is actually a country of immigrants, and (3) the strongest nation on earth can't deport all illegal aliens is enough to offend me.
I eagerly voted for Bush twice. Yes, I knew he voiced a liberal pro-illegal alien position at both times, but please don't blame me for hoping that he'd see the conservative light when it come decision time. I'm very disappointed and my outlook for the 'Icans is right now bleak. Perhaps what I need to do is print out the list of Bush's accomplishments on Pukin Dog's homepage and leave copies of it laying around so I can peruse it often to get my spirits up.
I hold out some hope--not a lot--that the House may yet save the day. I do think no bill on illegal aliens is better than a bad bill. From what I can see, you can't go wrong pushing the House bill when the country--including 'Icans, 'Rats, and Hispanics--are all behind it. Bush himself has told us that he'll toe the conservative line if the conservative base gets riled enough to insist on it. I shudder to think of what we might be losing by silencing ourselves.
A return to honor--sure. But censorship, even in the name of conservatism, is not honorable.
If you saw the 'gif' then I am surprised you'd ask such a question. I was shocked to learn the gender of the poster.
It does for me
That post was out of line
Minimum standards bump.
Hiya there swheats
Listen, dear. I am a former Navy Commander. I have ordered more men to "call it a night" then I can count. Something about mandatory rest before flying? It is a phrase, not a comment denoting how I feel about women, ok?
No one should doubt my love for the female form, if not always the female psyche, but I don't feel superior. Why do I picture you living in Berkeley and eating wheat grass in between poetry readings?
If you're going to repeat the sentence, repeat the whole thing:
"That you were heading toward trying to taint someone for knowing former FReepers who have been banned, for whatever reason (and I'm not going to be drawn into any debate about the ins and outs of moderating a thread) says to me that you're not involved in anything other than being a keyboard jockey on the FR boards."
Heck, I went to college with the guy who asked Jim Robinson to suspend him upthread, and was granted his wish. He lost his cool, but he's no troll. He was fairly involved. I can't pretend to understand his actions today, other than frustration.
Your dog post to Puckin Dog was likewise insulting, vile, disgusting, classless, unfunny, and beneath contempt.
You came onto this post to incite a flame war.
You've added nothing of value to it.
OTOH, a lot of people who were unfamiliar with you, have now been enlightened to exactly what and who you are, by your own words and actions...CONGRATULATIONS on doing such a spectacular job of that! ;^)
Oh, it was offensive, no doubt. But I would have found it equally offensive if a man had posted it, to tell you the truth. And no, I don't believe men and women are equal in every way (especially when it comes to matters of biological fact, such as muscle), but women posting such things doesn't bother me more than men posting them.
Yeah, it would be really tough to figure out my sex.....all you'd have to do is click on my screen name.
Spot on! :-)
:)
