I don't understand your comment:
"Your comment wrt the Senate is nonsense. 38 or so Republicans voted AGAINST the bill conservatives claim to hate. That is almost 2/3s of the Republicans in the Senate. And the GOP should be "punished"? What am I missing that changes this way of thinking from Insanity to sanity?"
First, I'm not sure the GOP should be 'punished'. I just think they need to be more effectively led.
Second, doesn't your observation prove mine? Of 55 Republican Senators, only 38 voted against a bill 'hated' by conservatives. If it is the bill in question (which one specifically?) is that bad, where's the other 17?
My comment is simple. It means punishing the party which is closest to conservatives' positions is INSANITY.
The howls around here are NOT for more "effective" leadership. A FR poll shows 10% hate Bush and 20% want to turn the whole shootin match over to the RATs.
The first immigration bill which passed 55-40 CLEARLY shows that the problem here is NOT the GOP it is and always has been the Party of Treason. Expecting 100% agreement within the GOP is an absurd expectation. This is not a totalitarian organization.
Using your logic the RATs aren't so bad since 8 of them also voted against it.
