Well, a greatly increased influx of Hispanic immigrants would appear to favor Democrats, if the recent demonstrations, as well as current voting patterns are any indication of future voting behavior. It also seems clear to me that they're not going to remain cheap and docile for very long, either. They're going to unionize. I see nothing positive for conservatives in this, other than the presumed religiosity of the group, and the effect that would have on the abortion issue. Beyond that, it's all socialist, all the time.

I agree and I too think that we will be seeing calls for raising the rate of pay for the illegals as soon as this immigration stuff calms down.

My pet peeve is that the cheap labor helps only the companies hiring these people. The illegals are not able to live and feed the large families with the cheap labor and the burden falls on the church members who contribute to benevolent programs that are overrun with hispanics. And, the welfare agencies all through our system.

There is nothing cheap about the illegals - it is just WHO is paying for it.
