You make it sound as though the frying pan is a safe place to be. Here's a clue -- That's where they tenderize and season you as you slowly get cooked.However, when being slowly cooked, you have a small chance of escaping. If the Dims get control, they'll put us all on a spit.

Or the warmth puts you to sleep. Jumping out of the pan gives you a chance to run away before you get too badly damaged.
