There was nothing to fear from having Miers as Justice. Not one objection of substance was ever raised.
Such a statement is as fatuous as children screaming "you missed" when playing Cowboys and Indians.
At best, Miers was a stealth nomininee when stealth was actually cowardice. At worst, Miers was another Harry Blackmun inferiority complex waiting to happen.
