You’re correct, the President is President to all America’s citizens. But the President’s duty, first and foremost, is to faithfully execute and uphold his Oath of Office: “to the best of his ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Within his foremost duties, then, as President of the United States of America, the Constitution requires that he “guarantee” to every state in this union, “protection against invasion” and protection against “domestic violence.”

This country is divided as a result of the ongoing invasion due to disobedience of laws, with impunity, by illegal aliens and those Americans who knowingly and willfully hire them, with impunity, because of those who espouse excuse-making. Those actions have led to: more laws not being properly enforced, a greater number of employers who willfully hire illegal aliens, and an ever greater number of foreigners illegally entering.

This President and this Congress have had many years have begun rectifying many problems, enforcing laws, and to have shown some kind of repair. Feeble attempts and inactions on the part of this President, who continues with his mantra of "good people doing the jobs Americans won't do," and this Congress, which even now is having a dog and pony show on the Senate floor, belong with them, and with them alone.

Similarly, the failures on the part of past Presidents and past Senators and Representatives, and the resulting problems it has caused, belongs with them. But blaming them for their faults yesterday does not give rise to giving excuses or giving up today.

To the extent that this President and this Congress must be held to account for their inaction, so be it. It is irresponsible of the citizenry to state otherwise.

This country is divided because:

Conservatives seek to have the Rule of Law upheld and enforced.
Conservatives stand for American culture, values, and language.
Conservatives value honor, truth, integrity, and hard work.
Conservatives say what they mean and mean what they say.
Conservatives believe that actions speak louder than words.
Conservatives put principle over anything else.
Conservatives believe in strict accountability and consequences for lawbreakers.
Conservatives do not promote selfish gain, greed, or excuse making.
Conservatives do not promote that which undermines high standards and values.
Conservatives do not put what’s in the best interests of another country before what’s best for America.
Conservatives stand for what is in the best interests of America and Americans.

And that is why America is now divided: because it’s not the Conservatives who’ve changed.

Exactly.

I feel like I'm like I'm in Bizzaro World.

We have elected officials in the US Government rewarding breaking the law and refusing to control the border *AND* conservatives are defending them.

Incredible.

One thing that will be very important for the future of the Conservative movement, is for us to not assume that all Conservatives are PERFECT Conservatives. The Perfect Conservative does NOT exist. Even Reagan raised taxes. Who would dare suggest Reagan was not a Conservative?

There is some truth to what you are saying.....but this country has been divided for much more than you are saying.

What PD wrote here, you haven't addressed. His main point, I think, is that the border-bots are dividing us unneccesarily, being helped by Kos kiddies and Duers who want us divided, and if successful will rule us in ways you will absolutely hate.

If the border bots foresake us, no matter what is done......(and it now seems to me they have forsaken conservatism so they can pout and prove how right they are)......you will lose in unspeakable ways when the Dems take over.

If the Dems take over:
1. The WOT will cease, and radical Islam can regroup
2. We will all get tax increases and our economy will shrink, putting us in serious danger.
3. The judiciary will be re-packed with judges that do things like....hmmmmmm.......forbid the public from not paying services for illegals.
4. The judiciary will be packed with those who vote for the culture of death, more Schiavvos and no hope of reversing the carnage of Roe v Wade
5. More and more regs on you personally, and the free market.
6. The Dem platform is hideous, and they will push hard and succeed for it.

Do you really want those things to happen? This when the President actually proposed half of what you want, which is border security? You only answer by saying Bush must be lying or be insincer......I want that security as much as you, but the border bots seem to want to just rant now.

Wait until the Dems are in and they have their way. Votes for all illegals, every single position you hold dear even in the anti-immi debate will be gone forever.

So decide.......you want them? Just keep it up, they're coming and will love the help of the border bots.

It's because conservatives would rather burn the country down than accept a compromise on any of 'their' issues.

I well remember a conservative running against Rudy Guiliani in NY. Into town came Bill Bennett and Jack Kemp. Campaigning for the conservative.

The conservative got between 1 and 2% of the vote. Rudy Guiliani barely won the election. Imagine having David Dinkins as Mayor againg thanks to the conservatives.

Evidently they felt their way or no way. To hell with the people living and working in NYC. A city long deemed ungovernable.

Think about the alternative when you blovaite about how wonderful conservatives are for the country.
