Ok, "Hard Core American", you come to the election. Do you vote democrat or republican? Let me know what democrat would solve the border problem.

"Hard Core American" - will a democrat preserve America or turn it into a socialistic world court member?

Will a democrat be pro-life? Will a democrat cut taxes? Will a democrat give you interpretation-only judges?

Or, are these other items of no importance?"

Whether we are in the World Court or not the United States will survive. Even if we were in it for a while, we could always make the decision to withdraw.

Whether Roe v. Wade is overturned or not the United States will survive. It might take years for peoples hearts to be softened. If it is ever overturned more than likely the states will decide on abortion restrictions. Local politicians will be making the decisions.

Whether taxes are cut or raised, the United States will survive. Taxes are raised and lowered on a regular basis and the decision can always be reversed.

Supreme Court Justices come and go and the United States has, and will, survive. Two of the most liberal Justices, Kennedy and Souter, were nominated by Republican Presidents.

IF THE INVASION OF OUR COUNTRY BY ILLEGAL ALIENS IS NOT STOPPED THE UNITED STATES WILL NOT SURVIVE. There is no changing your mind, there is no turning back, there will be no bill that can be passed or Supreme Court decision that could be made that will put the genie back in the bottle. Once our culture, our social institutions and, yes, our representative government(make no mistake they will become voters) is changed by the massive influx of uneducated, low skilled, socialist leaning, illegal aliens the United States, as we have known it and as the Founders intended it to be, will cease to exist.

This is an overriding issue that must be addressed NOW.
If we fail now, soon it will be to late.

No we will not survive the world court, the courts, etc.

I expect a conservative to think.

You did not mention which Democrat will give you strong borders.

IF THE INVASION OF OUR COUNTRY BY ILLEGAL ALIENS IS NOT STOPPED THE UNITED STATES WILL NOT SURVIVE

Nonsense. It may change and it may even merge somewhat, but immigration will not destroy these United States. As with all large nations, empires, what have you, it will come from within. The citizens of the respective states already feel entitled to certain programs (i.e. Social Security, healthcare, education, etc) and the Republicans instead of actually governing on limited government principles, are enabling them. And this will be our downfall.

Of course the faulty argument is that no one could get elected on such principles. Yet, many successfully elected Republicans do run on them. Of course when they are elected, duped conservatives realize it is just lip service (one would think these simpletons would wake up sooner or later and quit voting for them. I don't vote for them because I know, as do many other conservative libertarians already know what they're going to do). Bush even pandered a bit in 2000, but it's clear the President who never met a spending bill he didn't like, has not governed as such.

Of course, then arises the other faulty argument, 'there's a war on' or some such nonsense. This does not explain the massive growth in government on the domestic policies. Now a more cynical person (not me of course) would state that Republicans and Democrats have ramped up such spending in an effort to appease the citizens of the respective states while they continue to centralize such issues as domestic spying, providing 'safety', etc in Washington DC. the massive growth in government on the domestic policies. Of course what has history told us time and again about such protection policies? In the end, they will work against those that advocated their usage in protection of freedom or they will be used to remove what the State considers its 'enemies' (i.e. anyone who disagrees with State policies).

Once our culture, our social institutions and, yes, our representative government(make no mistake they will become voters) is changed by the massive influx of uneducated, low skilled, socialist leaning, illegal aliens the United States, as we have known it and as the Founders intended it to be, will cease to exist.

Can't say as I agree with that. Uneducated by your standards perhaps. Socialist leaning? This differs from the majority of the citizens of the respective states (and their representation on both sides for the most part) how again? However, let me stop here and state I agree with many of your principles on immigration. I also note that Republicans will do nothing but pay lip service to it. That's what politicians are good at.

What to do? Well as I stated I do not follow Republicans or Democrats. I lean libertarian, and vote my conscience. I do not care which party gets what, when, and how. A super majority of either party will neither alleviate or move to fix the problems that face this nation of states, mainly limitation of the federal government against the citizens of the respective states and more importantly against the states themselves.

I think many of the faithful need to step back and read the words of General Washington in his Farewell Address. He warned of the 'spirit of parties'. If nothing else, this thread has shown ignorance of that warning. More are concerned with which party will get into office, treating it as some panacea, than which candidate best represents the views of their respective constituencies. If I do not find a candidate at the national level on the ballot I do not agree with, I leave that race blank. That is what we should all do if we are to follow the vision of the Framers. Unfortunately, too many are willing to follow the desire of party, the right 'team' if you will. A decade from now, if by some minute chance multiple parties have not arisen, there may be a situation where one party gains a super majority. And when still nothing has changed, perhaps the faithful can supply another excuse for why a move hasn't been made to shrink government to some semblance of recognition.

Note, this does not work against removing those from power that do not recognize the Constitution or the intended limitations on the federal government. It merely recognizes that not all liberals are on one side of the aisle. Enabling those that happen to be on the 'right' team by voting their team into the majority does not help either.

Good day
