Yeah...........that signing of the Tax Relief today was an illusion.

Don't let the truth get in the way of your incredibly unclever bashing.

You might never recover your reputations if you ever admitted that you say whatever you feel like saying just for attention, regardless of reality.

Since we're clueless and guessing - it could be a move to try and get Russia and China to help us out with Iran (although I am not sure Russia and China would actually want us negotiating directly with them or not). But I offer that as a possibility. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors.

No, this is the perfect time for this to be addressed.

There's no tactical reason we need to have troops at the Korean DMZ.

Let the South Koreans sleep in the political bed they've made with their recent comments. Pull the US out and whatever happens, happens.

Actually, this may not be a bad idea. Right now, the imminent danger is from Iran.

North Korea is an evil regime, but their leaders act in their own self-interest, like a cold-war adversary. It is not in the North Korean leadership's self-interest to actually start a nuclear war in which they would be annihilated.

Iran's leadership represents the greater danger. They have all but publicly announced their intentions to use their nuclear weapons when they have them. They are motivated by an ideology that says it may be worth dying to achieve certain goals. While immigration is important, and Iraq is very important, the single most important objective of our foreign policy ought to be to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. If we have to make nice with some unsavory people to achieve that objective, it may be a wise choice.

I heard from TNYTs that this is to facilitate a deal for North Korea to buy some U.S.Ports.

Wow. You failed history, didn't you?

Do you really think that saying the dumbest possible things with no basis in historical fact will make an impression on people around here?

You are advertising the fact that Bush haters are as dumb as rocks, CROSS.

Unbelieveable! Doesn't the TRUTH matter to you at all??

I think this is a trial balloon to see how Americans will react. Some points to consider:

1) Peace with NK would mean a more relaxed border between NK and SK. Something both countries want.

2) More US troops out of Korea. Something the US and Korea want

3) Recognition of sorts by the US of NK, something NK desperately wants.

4) A diplomatic "in" to unilateral talks on NK nukes. And possibly a way to get NK to stop trading in arms.
