One thing is for sure, the liberals cant say this was government endorsed. I applaud these young men and women for standing up for their rights, and setting the example for others. The ACLU filed suit on behalf of one student who felt offended that a prayer would be included in their graduation ceremony. U.S. District Judge Joseph McKinley granted a temporary restraining order sought by a student. Here is how the students responded to the attempts to censor them.
The senior class at a southern Kentucky high school gave their response Friday night to a federal judges order banning prayer at commencement.
About 200 seniors stood during the principals opening remarks and began reciting the Lords Prayer, prompting a standing ovation from a standing-room only crowd at the Russell County High School gymnasium.
The thunderous applause drowned out the last part of the prayer.

I can only hope there will be a crescendo of such events telling the black-robed inquisitors to stuff it.
I echo that. Curiously in the mid 90's, my brother was prevented from giving the graduation prayer because a group of ministers didn't want a student doing it. I'm still a little mad over it, but of course, it's in the past.
My contention right along has been simply ignore these stupid rulings that come from the liberal judges on behalf of the ACLU! What can they do? Like the case out in SD where the city has to remove a cross or pay a fine, hell ignore it. Let the judge remove it if he can. As for the fine, don't pay it, time we got some backbone in this country and return it to the AMERICAN PEOPLE!
Haven't you gotten the memo yet??
The ONLY protected speech is Radical Liberal approved Politicly correct speech...
In LibWorld, Opinion is Fact, but facts are lies...
This would be damned funny if it were a movie, but it has vast implications on us all.....
"False" G-d?
Muslims, Jews and Christians all worship the same God of Abraham.
"What if they mostly all stood up and prayed to Allah?? "
I used to live in the Middle East. I respected their religion while there. I never tried to force them to stop their prayers when I was in the middle of a transaction and they said I had to wait because they had to go pray. I never complained and sued to get them to stop all the prayers that I was forced to listen too because it was being broadcast from mosques over loud speakers. This is their religion and I respected it. I expect others to respect mine.
The problem is that the COSTS of fighting are so high, no responsible politician can do it without hurting his local folks, and facing endless tirades from Libs about "The Rule Of Law"...
Replacing the JUDGES is how this gets done, and that means ELECTING REPUBLICANS.....
DEMS put them IN that way, and it's up to us to take them out.....
I love it.
(I received this in this morning's email - hope you will all copy and paste it into an email message.)
THE SNEEZE
They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two students filing into the already crowded auditorium With rich maroon gowns flowing and the traditional caps, they looked almost as grown up as they felt.
Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away tears.
This class would not pray during the commencements----not by choice, but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.
The principal and several students were careful to stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational and challenging speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for blessings on the graduates or their families.
The speeches were nice, but they were routine.....until the final speech received a standing ovation.
A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still and silent for just a moment, and then, it happened. All 92 students, every single one of them, suddenly SNEEZED!!!!
The student on stage simply looked at the audience and said, " GOD BLESS YOU, each and every one of you!" And he walked off stage...
The audience exploded into applause. The graduating class had found a way to invoke God's blessing on their future with or without the court's approval.
Isn't this a wonderful story? Pass it on to all your friends.........and
GOD BLESS YOU!!!!
In God We Trust, United We Stand.
That's why we need to assert the Judeo-Christian foundations of our country (and certainly stop all muslim immigration here). Let the gaia-worshippers do their own thing in private. Yet another example of "diversity" being divisive and hostile.
As for the ACLU and their disgruntled atheists--tell them to "tolerate" our culture in the public square or organize their own schools for atheists. Let them exercise, at their expense, their freedom of association and religion, and not bring our country down in the name of their gods.
Thank you.
I am sitting reading this, crying lke a fool at this beautiful simple example of American courage.
FREEDOM!
If I lived in a Muslim area, and there were lots of Muslim students at the school, and they wanted to pray to their god, I have no problem with it.
I'd feel sort of sad because I think the Islamic god is a god of bondage and rules, and while they were praying I would be silently praying to my God for their true enlightenment. But I would never disresepect their faith by insisting they leave it at the door when I am in the room.
Brilliant! Thank you for posting this feel good story.
True, we need for feel-good stories about education more here. Maybe I ought to post some of the many that I see/personally experience every year.
A great story and posting. They will succeed in life as they have learned to stand up for their rights and beliefs.
If you do, be sure to ping me.
Sure thing and I did REALLY like this story too.
The ACLU is an arm of the anti-christ. These people are into their own power and that of satan. They hate Christians, we must not hate them back but we must fight them.
The way to begin is to never, ever, never, vote for a Democrat. It is the party of secularism and abortion. It has become Godless.
