Well, that seems like the real problem, and it seems like a better use of the legislature's time. Give them life without parole.
A life sentence doesn't seem to stand for much these days. All you need is for some liberal leftist whack-job group to focus on some nut-job, and before you know it Mike Farrel and other bleading hearts will be holding candle-light vigils and recounting the wonderful aspects of the prisoner's personna.
