Well-said. How is the government supposed to know how much to collect from these people, anyway? Would we be dependent on their integrity? That seems laughable. They're here illegally! What makes us think they would fill out honest tax returns?

Inasmuch as most of these low-skilled immigrant workers are in the 0% tax bracket, this should be a real boon for the U.S. Treasury. Indeed, the government may end up paying the illegals money: "Let's see, Juan. According to our records, you owe us 0% for the past three years, and because you qualify for the earned-income tax credit, we actually owe you! Are 20s OK?"
Oh, nice. That means we have to keep the estate tax, amt, and let the Bush tax cut expire to "pay for" these future taxpayers.
