To: Harmless Teddy Bear
Just firmly telling the person to knock it off, or calling them out on the insult in public, is usually enough. Anybody who races to violence over a couple of words has problems, just as anybody who races to court over hurt feelings has problems.

I like solving my own problems - bringing someone to court because my feelings have been hurt is absurd, childish, and weak.

Nice fantasy. Except in this case it has repeated been proven not to be. So now what do you do?

And this is just what they are doing, solving their own problem in the real world.

Doing nothing is a sign of weakness that will only encourage bigger attacks.
