Didn't she know when the graduation started?
I just wonder why she was late.

Doesn't matter why she was late. She was late and therefore must experience the consequences. Rules are rules and she better learn now that allowing her to skirt the rules only encourages others to do so without consequences. All were warned and most honored the rules.

Then to cause a fuss like she did reflects what she's all about and who she really is. I say throw the book at her and tear up her diploma and purge her from the year book.

"I just wonder why she was late."

Probably couldn't find a babysitter.

Parents should have felt responsible for seeing that she got there on time - may have been extenuating circumstances which were not the girl's fault.

OTOH, Fox had a quick news clip on last night about a young Black girl who lived under one of her school's portable buildings for the last month of school. She graduated with a 4.6 and hoping to get into West Point and make the military her career. She would go to work at McDonald's after school and then back to her hidey-hole for the night. There were family problems at home and she evidently felt like this was her only way to finish high school - amazing story.
