The pilot with far and away the most kills was Eric Hartmann, with 352 kills. Galland was nowhere near him -- my resident WWII av historian tells me his was more around 80 or 90 kills. MY GOOF!!!

What a load of cr*p! The German history book says: After the fall of the Roman Empire the Germans had to check on their tribes. Not everybody were obviously up to the usual standards. Some couldn't cook properly ( Sauerkraut, what else ?) other were binge drinking hooligans, just talking silly all day, and the worst of all they couldn't win a penalty shootout! Hence they had to get rid of them and sent them to this foggy island....
The English police doesn't allow over 3000 of your "peaceful fans" - otherwise called soccer hooligans - to leave England during the World Cup. They obviously have learnt from their Brussels riots some years ago, that led to severe restrictions for the English Football Assoc. at the time.
