....Dems who are concerned about illegals, are also animiated by a bunch of other issues, that keep them away from the GOP, including many blacks.....

One of the great unifying issues for Blacks and conservatives---besides illegals---is religious church-going Blacks' oppisition to gay marriage.

A conservative candidate who exploits this can earn their votes.

Even though it's just a small straw poll, it's interesting that a conservative could win in such a liberal area. It could be the first small tremor of a huge earthquake.

Don't forget confiscation of your auto if you get a DUI citation.

Tom Tancredo 60 18.5%
Rudy Giuliani 45 13.8%
Mitt Romney 40 12.3%
Condi Rice 39 12.0%
Newt Gingrich 38 11.7%
John McCain 38 11.7%

well of the ones in double digits... Giuliani is a baby killer... Rice isn't running... and McCain is a RINO sellout who couldn't get elected janitor in the Republican Primary...

So... that leaves only Tancredo, Romney, and Gingrich...

and of those Gingrich is probably too polarizing... which leave just Tancredo and Romney...

Romney sure looks the part... but honestly... Does the republican party really want to roll the dice on someone from Massachusis? that state with the longest line of Presidential losers.

Tancredo may be the man.

"The "brilliant" Condi Rice said that Israel hadn't done enough, and still needed to do alot more, after Israel forcibly kicked their own citizens out of their homes to give land to the savage palistinians. I immediately decided at that moment that I would never give her my support if she were to run for president."

I totally agree. She jumped the shark regarding the Israeli/Pali conflict. Too easily swayed by the Arab point of view for my tastes. Thus, could be too easily swayed by other enemy points of view also. Makes me nervous.,

I don't know about Rice, but I get the very strong feeling that Tancredo/Giuliani would be almost unbeatable. Think about it. Tancredo would get everyone who wants to seriously crack down on illegals, and Giuliani would get those who admire his no BS stance on the war on islamofacism. A sure winner. Just my opinion.

I don't know. Makes me think of William Henry Harrison for some reason.

Yep. I don't care about the rest; I care about this, and not electing a Dem.

I'd vote for a dead cat before I'd stay home and put Al Gore in office. I want to stay alive long enough to fight another day for Conservative principles.
