As Maj. Gen. William Caldwell confirmed, speaking from Baghdad at about 9 a.m. EDT, the confirmation of Zarqawi’s death triggered about 17 other strikes against people in his network that we had been allowed to remain at large in the hope they would lead us to their boss.

Hot damn. In addition to Zarqawi and his 7 lieutenants, another 17 top leaders in his organization! This is a good day.

Correction: Zarq, seven deputies (including his spiritual adviser) and at least 17 others (and probably many more) in 17 additional strikes that had been delayed pending the elimination of Zarq.

Combined with other recent "acqusitions" and the completion of the cabinet, this is a very good day for Iraq and for us.
