Disciplinary action has been ordered by the principal secretary and district administration against those responsible for the lapse.

Lapse, my foot. It was probably a scam and their employees were in on the take. Time to go over every application with a fine toothed comb. It wouldn't surprise me if he and many of his buddies were getting benefits from the US as well.

This was not "a lapse" as the Indian officials suggest. At the risk of getting flamed I'll just say it. I'm using a broad brush here, but the more I work with people from India the less impressed I am. Most in the corporate world seem to have a sense of entitlement once they have received a degree or position. They think they no longer have to work or prove themselves and they push as much of their work or responsibility onto other people as they can get awya with.

At least they all seem to have jobs or own a Marathon food stop, but many I have known are very keen on how to work the system. They know how to take advantage of the "protections" afforded by our court systems to green card holders (they actually have more rights to sue for discrimination than an American citizen; even if they are proven totally incompetent). Therefore, many prefer to work in the US 20 to 30 years without going for US citizenship. They then go back home to live like kings with $5.00 a day servants at their becon call. I have found that they will do anything for a buck (lie and cheat if necessary) or to take advantage.

I have no doubt somebody in the Indian govt. took a bribe to get Zarqawi on the welfare tit in India.

Perhaps some of Al Zarqawi male relatives or close associates can come forward to claim his death benefits

...payed in 500 pound increments courtesy of the USA.

I wouldn't be surprised if Zarqawi had signed up for one of those you can't ever be turned down life insurance policies hawked on TV by Ed Mc Mahan.

A German scholar has claimed that the promise of 72 "virgins" in the Koran is a mistranslation of the word for white raisins. So Zarqawi's reward for his martyrdom may well be 72 white raisins.
