"Mother Jesus"? I don't think there's anything anywhere which suggests Jesus was a woman. And, let's face it, I'm not sure that a woman would have been considered a credible figure 2000 years ago. Too bad, so sad, but that's the way it was. And while I'm on this rant, what says God has to be either male or famale? It's only our narrow and limited mortal perspective that has to put a sex on everything; God is above all that. Okay; end of rant.

I think people like this are responsible for alot of new Roman Catholic converts.

Yes. And Orthodox, and Protestant, and the Continuing Anglican churches too.

I'd say God is masculine, since Jesus was male, and since he called God "Father".

But I think Gaia and Aphrodite are female, though fictitious.

Dittos that. And "Mother Jesus"?? Give me a break... Why someone doesn't stand up during a sermon or mass and condemn this is beyond me. I don't think I could keep my mouth shut.

Did not St. Paul say women were to be silent in church? At least a man should have one day of the week to escape seemingly endless chatter.

At this point, it appears it will take a stake through the heart.

What do traditional Anglicans think of Rowan?

Not much. One of the kinder terms was used by founder of the Traditional Anglican ping list -- he called him "Rowan the Fuzzy." My bishop was not so kind.

I had a Catholic Priest who changed the words in the Nicene Creed "for us men and our slavation..." by dropping the word "men". I let him know it was not appreciated and he really wasn't interested. Told him adios.

Find out a couple years later he was having a homo fling and got booted out recently.
