D. Young has a warrant out because he failed to appear on a domestic violence charge. He is in the Betty Ford Clinic for another problem, that's why he didn't appear.

It is very doubtful he will appear in a Tiger uniform again. The organization has a low tolerance level for head cases and they don't need one in this clubhouse.

I was going by memory but I just tracked the story down. I agree that the Tigers don't need any distractions with "messy" players.
