The 40-Year-Old Virgin Executive By BILL CARTER
If NBC's selection of Dan Abrams, an on-air anchor, as the new day-to-day boss of MSNBC left employees of that all-news cable channel gasping in shock and it did the next steps in the reshaping of the long-struggling network are likely to generate at least a few low whistles of surprise.
Mr. Abrams, in an interview at the MSNBC headquarters in Secaucus, N.J., acknowledged that he was still in the learning stages of his new job. At the age of 40, he's taking his first management post in television, where he has worked as a legal analyst and news anchor. While steering away from suggestions that a widespread overhaul of MSNBC is imminent, he did suggest that he would push right away for more breaking news coverage during the channel's daytime hours.

I don't know what's more amusing, them thinking we all want to watch old Dateline prison reruns every day of the week or that Olberman is gaining of Fox.
Pablum puking liberals. It was Morton Downey Jr. MSNBC would have to be very desperate indeed to put him on the air, as he's been dead for many, many years. Which is to say, virtually indistinguishable from Keith Olbermann.
Watched a portion of it for the first time this evening and when I saw the baggage she brought along from Court TV (Weintraub, etc.) I sent off a letter to Fox. Two "Gretas" covering the same topics will not foster a boost in ratings.
This is like putting Matt Millan in charge of the Lions.
As long as I get to do the "Andy Rooney" segment, I'm all for it!
I thought they were going for Bryant Gumbel.
You know you suck when CNN laughs at you.
I liked that kiddie show they had with the puppets
Donahue actually had a pretty good show once he switched to his patented format of him having a mic in the audience, and made sure he had opposing points of view on the stage. If they would have stuck with that I think he'd be a hit right now and eat into O'Reilly's audience. They cancelled him too soon though before they gave the switch the time to work.
Id like to see a more libertarian network. Theres already a conservative and liberal one. Dan Abrams isnt going to create anything decent though. I watch his show and he doesnt come off very bright to be honest; he definitely isnt a chip off the old block.
Scarborough is history though. I could tell by the way he's been acting recently. He looks like his dog just died.
Abrams vision for MSNBC: 24 hour Entertainment Tonight, minus Mary Hart.
They certainly can't win with hard news, you know.
Guess this means they will join the NY Slimes in reporting what is bad for America and good for the Terrorists.
Concur.
