You're quite welcome, I'm glad someone else enjoyed seeing them. Sometimes we get lucky out here with spectacular sunset shine through trails. This one wasn't like that, but it was fun all the same. I'm inland from Vandenberg by, gosh, 4 or 5 hours' drive. At least 150 miles as the crow flies.
Thanks for the offer, but they want a lot of personal info to upload a picture. Is there another way to imbed non-text? Is this the way that all pictures are included into FR?
Florida's a little out of my reach. :)
Wish I'd given myself more lead time. I'd have put the digital camera on a tripod. It'd be the same pics, but less blur.
If you have your own webspace provided by your ISP, you could upload it there...you have to upload it somewhere to we can all access it.

upload the photo and paste the new link here as an image link
Oh, I'm going to *cough* use the Leer Jet! Treats on ME!
Pardon me whilst I go get sick now.... ;)
I just saw a blip somewhere that Isreal has flat announced they're GONNA assassinate Olmert! Period!!! (I just love to write that word "assassinate" cause then I can legally and in good taste write the word A$$, repeatedly!)
That first one's awesome! Looks a little like lightning. :)
Oh, well, heck. As long as we're talking fake trips, I'm game. But let's go to Germany instead and catch the World Cup final.
Nicely done. You are nominated for permanent west coast spacecraft photography duty.
Only on the first pass, once in orbit, which it apparently is now, it will pass from Pole to pole about every 45 minutes, or 90 minutes for a full orbit. I doubt the payload will be ready to .. well do whatever it does, for a few orbits at least. The first orbit will also take it very nearly over the launch site, somewhat to the west of it actually as the earth turns under the orbit. On subsequent passes the ground track moves west, again as the earth turns under the satellite.
I saw that same burst! My daughter said it looked like steam. :) Cool pics.
Well... You can't miss a thing... When you have got that swing... Doo Wap, Doo Wap, Doo Wap!!! (polar orbit... That is...)
Germany? You are SO on!!!!
(Can a Leer make it that far? Where do we stop for gas?) :)
We have a similar view, don't we. Very cool. :-D
Thanks for the help. This was taken from 25 miles north of Vandenberg. My wife took it via hand-held.
In that orbit it can "keep an eye" or an ear, or whatever, on the whole world.
